Atelea Vea “can’t wait” to make St Helens debut

New St Helens signing Atelea Vea joined up with his new team-mates yesterday and admits he “can’t wait” to play in front of the Langtree Park crowd.

The Tongan international, 27, joins Kieron Cunningham’s side from London Broncos after making 22 appearances last season, scoring two tries and making nearly 60 tackle busts.

The back-rower kicked off his Saints career with a gym session.

“It’s been good and I’m glad to be here,” he said.

“I’ve done my first session with the players and there’s a lot more to come.

“I played against Saints last season and the crowd were great. It felt like somewhere I would like to be.

“I can’t wait to play in front of them.”
