Maurice Blair has been given permission to return to Australia after his brother tragically passed away last week.
Hull Kingston Rovers allowed Blair to leave the club to attend his brother’s funeral back home. He will miss the weekend’s clash with London.
“This is terrible news for Bobby and his family and he has temporarily returned home to Australia with our condolences,” said Hull KR head of rugby Jamie Peacock.
“Bobby received the tragic news last week but insisted on remaining in the country to play in Saturday’s game against Leigh Centurions. That is a testament to his character and the dedication he has towards the club and his teammates.
“However, it’s important that he now returns home to Australia to be with his family. We wish him a safe trip and will be doing everything we can to pick up a vital win on Sunday in his absence.”
It leaves James Webster with only Matty Marsh to pick from at halfback for the game against Fev. Terry Campese remains injured, while Albert Kelly is still suspended after reporting back to training late last week.
Everyone at League Publications sends their condolences to Maurice and his family at this time.
