Bradford chairman confident in buying back Odsal

Bradford Bulls chairman Marc Green has revealed the club are still in talks with the RFL over buying back Odsal, but says he’s confident a deal can be struck before this season reaches its conclusion.

The famous ground has been owned by the RFL since January 2012, when they paid £1.25million for it. Green now wants to buy it back though, and transform Odsal into a modern, forward-thinking venue.

And he said that a deal can only be done when the RFL are confident there is stability in the business model Green has implemented at the club, but believes that can be proven – and insisted he’s confident of a deal going ahead.

“We’re still in discussions with the RFL and they have taken a very pragmatic approach,” he told the Telegraph and Argus.

“They want comfort in the business having stability before they are willing to allow the title to transfer over.

“It’s about demonstrating that we have a stable and viable business that is rock-solid enough for them to feel comfortable that this is the right decision.

“I’m confident that we will have it done before the end of the season.”
