Returning Featherstone Rovers favorite Kyle Briggs is set to make his third debut for the club in Sunday’s pre-season clash with Salford Red Devils.
The 28-year-old signed on the dotted line for the 2016 season after a two season spell with divisional rivals Sheffield Eagles.
He previously enjoyed two stints with Featherstone between 2009-2010 and 2013-2014 respectively, while also featuring on loan in the 2012 season after limited chances at Bradford Bulls.
Former Sheffield teammates Misi Taulapapa, Scott Turner and John Davies also made the move to Fev ahead of the new season, after a number of first-team players left the club.
Head Coach Jon Sharp believes Briggs can be a big hit on his return and hopes his kicking game will bring another dimension for his side.
“It’s really exciting news for everyone that Kyle is ready to play and make his third debut for Rovers,” he told the club’s official website.
“I’m delighted that he is ready to go as he brings experience to the side, mental toughness and has a great kicking game.
“Last weekend against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats we had a bit of an issue with goal kicking, so hopefully Kyle will be the solution.
“Since re-joining the club, Kyle has been a revelation in training which has had a fantastic effect on everyone in the group.
“It’s still early stages but his partnership with Thackeray seems to be developing well so it will be good to see them both in action on Sunday.”
