Batley Bulldogs got their pre-season off to a good start with a 4-12 victory today against Dewsbury Rams at Tetley's Stadium, winning the Roy Powell Trophy, which is named after the iconic international player who came from the Heavy Woollen area, but who died suddenly two days after Christmas in 1998.
