Leeds Rhinos prop Adam Cuthbertson admits he’s excited to go back to Castleford’s Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Thursday – because it reminds him of a familiar venue from back home.
The Tigers host the Rhinos in the opening game of the Easter period this weekend, with the Rhinos looking to build on their win against St Helens last Friday – only their second success of 2016.
And Cuthbertson says Cas is always a great place to go for him, because it brings back memories of playing at Manly’s Brookvale Oval.
“They are really vocal, the Cas fans,” Cuthbertson told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“I played at Brooky for a number of years and it’s not too different to that. That’s why I really embraced it.
“I am looking forward to getting back there and hopefully we can turn up with a similar team attitude to Friday night.”
Cuthbertson also said that despite the Tigers coming into the game on the back of three straight losses, they will not be underestimating their West Yorkshire rivals.
“You can’t read anything into that,” Cuthbertson added. “We always have tough games against Cas.
“They knocked us off twice at home last year, but fortunately we got them at their home. It will be a really good game.”
