Catalans announce Justin Horo signing

Catalans Dragons have announced the signing of Manly Sea Eagles star Justin Horo on a two-year deal starting from next season.

Horo, who can play in the back-row, has signed from the NRL to further bolster Catalans’ squad ahead of 2016, with the 28-year-old joining alongside fellow NRL forward Dave Taylor.

Horo said: “I am pleased to have my future settled and look forward to joining the Catalans Dragons. I would like to thank those clubs who showed interested in me but after speaking to Laurent the coach and ex team mates currently at the Dragons I felt extremely comfortable in joining the club.”

Horo, 28, started his career at Parramatta in 2010 and received the Eels’ rookie of the year award in his first season. After 52 NRL appearances, he decided to join Manly at the start of the 2013 season.

Catalans Dragons Head coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “The signing of Justin once again shows the ambitions of our club. He will bring his offensive and defensive qualities to the team and his profile corresponds to our philosophy. He is an aggressive player in defence, and his power and his skills allow him to break the line and also to play in spaces.”
