Cronulla Sharks have been named the favourites to sign wantaway Leeds hooker James Segeyaro.
The Rhinos put a £250,000 fee on the head of the Papua New Guinean on Monday, after he decided to “renege” the remainder of his two-year contract with the club.
His revelation that he was suffering from homesickness came after weeks of speculation linking him with the NRL Premiers, who are reportedly keen on signing him for 2017.
They have now been named the favourites to sign the hooker by Betway, having been priced at 5/4. Last year’s NRL wooden spoon club Newcastle are priced at 7/4, while punters can get odds of 5/2 on Segeyaro making an unlikely return to Leeds.
