Halifax RLFC could be without captain Scott Murrell for some time after he suffered a hand injury.
Fax’s influential captain put in a strong performance as they went down 29-22 to high-flying London Broncos on Sunday.
After that defeat, head coach Richard Marshall confirmed that he will need treatment for the injury.
“He got a cut on his hand which requires plastic surgery,” he said.
“He was getting strapping one minute and he was scoring the next. That’s what you want from your captain. I feel for him that he put all that effort in and we didn’t get the result we wanted.”
It has been a difficult start to the season for Fax, who have lost three of their opening five games and are currently eighth in the Championship.
