Five Kingstone Press Championship players have been charged with punching offences – with the quintet of stars all coming from the same two clubs that contested a fiery affair last Sunday.
The clash between Halifax and Leigh Centurions saw four yellow cards and one red card in the match – with Leigh’s Sam Barlow receiving both a yellow and the red issued by referee Chris Leatherbarrow.
And Barlow is one of the five charged, as he faces a Grade A charge for punching. Leigh’s Sean Penkywicz and Jacob Emmitt are the other two Centurions charged – Emmitt faces two counts of punching and does not have the option of an early guilty plea.
As for Halifax, Paul Mennell and Tony Tonks – who was also shown a yellow in that remarkable clash – are also up on punching charges, with Tonks facing a more serious Grade B charge.
