Wakefield Trinity Wildcats forward Richard Moore admits he is pumped to face Castleford Tigers in the huge Good Friday derby in West Yorkshire, claiming the fans deserve no less than a victory.
After some dismal form over the last few weeks, the Wildcats will be looking to claim the local bragging rights against their bitter rivals – who are currently flying high at the right end of the table. And Moore believes that a win against the Tigers would do wonders for the confidence in the camp heading into Easter.
“It’s a derby game, if you can’t get up for this one then you’re never going to get up for one, are you? I’ve played in a few before and I’m looking forward to this one. They’re going to come here full of confidence and I know all the lads are looking forward to this one.
“It would be nice to get a win and a good performance for the fans, it’s what they deserve. For the lads to get a win and get a bit of confidence would be good. Everything that we’re doing in training is right, it’s just getting it right on a matchday.”
“It was two tough games to come back to but our performance as a team has not been acceptable really. I think there were 20 minutes to go and you see your own fans disappearing out of the ground it’s disappointing. You feel for them, they pay good money every week so to see them going home early was disappointing.
