I have Virgin so maybe different, when they have RL on there I'm not sure it is true 4k, but I think the picture clarity benefits from the channel quality. If that makes sense?
I have Sky Glass and would definitely agree with this.

Get over yourself you clown. People have a right to an opinion, but you just seem to think what you say is right. This is an open forum site where we can give our opinions believe it or not .Get over yourself
Okay guys, you carry on getting outraged over things that have zero affect on your lives whatsoever.
I'll be outside touching grass.

Maybe being constantly lied to doesn’t bother you, but it does me. Is that a good enough answer?
Where's the lie please?
17 of the 21 man squad named, plays. York would lose a substitution for the game otherwise.
Stop being so melodramatic.

Said it all season, this 21 man squad nonsense is the biggest pile of BS I’ve ever seen. It’s marketing under false pretences. If a player isn’t fit and has no chance of playing he shouldn’t be named. I know it’s some RL directive, but that doesn’t make it right. It should be an 17 man squad plus a reserve and that’s it.
What does it matter? What difference does it make to you?

This isn’t a dig at Toulouse and I know other clubs have had similar issues in the past but imagine they were in SL and this was happening. The IMG grading criteria including points for being in control of your own ground looks like a good idea now
If my Auntie had b*llocks...
Its a rugby world cup. There won't be another one in France for another 16-20 years. Its not a big issue.

That is your opinion. I disagree. What we have seen so far is amateur stuff and the sport is no where near monetizing it.
What you allude to has finally happening was all supposedly happening when the last TV deal was announced. Saying you are going to do these things in the face of receiving less money is purely reactive and trying to placate fans. Doing them badly achieves nothing.
The main difference between then and now is IMG, who have extensive experience in monetising content like this. They've done it with great success for UFC, WWE, NFL & MLS (and probably more).

At £30 a month even with 10,000 subscribers (I can't see it being more than that and probably actually being optomistic) won't raise much at all when costs are deducted so I can't see it happening. Its more likely to be £10-15 a game and any subscription £80-100 a month
Costs aren't deducted, they're part of the TV deal. NFL Game Pass and UFC Fight Pass (both produced by IMG) both come in at roughly £100 for the year and are excellent. If an IMG version of OurLeague got anywhere close to that quality I'd be delighted.

I'd be interested to know this too
The obvious market is that there are a lot if fans who will pay for their own teams away fixtures twice a month. This is given most fans don't got to away fixtures. Also there must be a sizeable amount of SL team fans who don't watch regular home games.for whatever reason (location, transport, disability??).....so just for the actual fans of teams it is interesting to know who will start paying for games on tv
Then there are the tragics like us lot...personally if all games get broadcast in some format I'll probably watch all of them each week.....probably spread out through the week
As someone who works from home, this would be a dream for me...

It'll be interesting to see how they play this. I'd be surprised if Sky would support a deal that sees 3 or 4 live, exclusive games per week for a cost substantially less than for Sky Sports.
Why else would they film every game to broadcast standard?

Play 2 Ps the following week at Newcastle and with a bit of luck play him in the final 4 games of the season.
I wouldn't be playing Big Papi on either of those pitches...

Aye you're right Gav. I was there when we were getting 200 through the gate and almost having as many put past on the pitch.
But I can't help how I feel. And right now i don't feel in love with the game as much as i used to. And I appreciate that's not the club's doing.
I probably just aint got used to having an empty seat next to me yet.
Hope you're ok mate. Much love to you!

Lost my way this year. My 6th decade of watching York RL through thick and thin, week in week out.
Always went with my dad and, in recent years, with my other half. But my dad's been in hospital for a few months now and my love of the club, and to a degree rugby league, is slowly slipping away.
Looking back, i can remember coming away from then LNER after our opener against Widnes and discussing with my dad how we were just a little bit away from being a competitive, entertaining team. And that's how it seems to have stayed all season long. Key players are always just a couple of weeks away. The club's off-pitch development is close to delivering real, concrete returns. The PR team always have exciting match themes and community link-ups that never materialise. And so it has gone on.
Can't see myself attending another match this season unfortunately. Yet, like a love affair that you just can't give up on, I sincerely hope something pulls me back next season as this has been such a big part of my life for too long to give up now.
I appreciate everyone has their own thing going on, but following this club for six decades and deciding that the 2023 version is the straw that broke the camel's back is absolutely wild to me. You followed the club through near bankruptcy at Clarence Street, actual bankruptcy of the Wasps, and the basket case of the latter Guildford years.
We've had a torrid run of injuries (that the club 100% need better comms) yet we've made a Challenge Cup quarter-final, a league cup semi-final, and we're closer to the Championship play offs than we are the drop zone after a disrupted pre-season.
We play in a brilliant new stadium and I agree that the club need to strike a better balance between their corporate and fanbase relationships, but a little perspective here is needed I think.

Understand why some supporters get fed up with the lack of information that comes out of the club, surely the knights could have told the supporters that Levi was out for the rest of the season a couple of months ago!
I totally agree mate.

Refine the badge so its more digital and embroidery friendly.
Home kit of red & white hoops with subtle nods of leopard print in the trim.
Away and Magic/Cup/charity - literally go wild...
Do that and I reckon they've nailed it. The fans have clearly bought in so fair play to all concerned!

Do you really believe the RFL will force a team who has no chance of getting in the top 12 of the IMG ratings to go full time for 1 season knowing full well that it could put them in financial trouble the season after?
Super League playing contracts are full time contracts. They may make an exception if a club really wants the cleaners ran through them for a season, but right now that is the reality of the situation.
-
5 minutes ago, The Blues Ox said:
You might want to check that. There is simply no rule that players must be full time to play in SL and contracts are pretty easy to manipulate. I wouldn't worry too much on that front.
Ok mate.

It certainly shouldn't be allowed in SL, if it is then that is quite rightly a joke.
I'm told from a very reliable source that while it may or may not be explicitly stated in the operational rules, all Super League playing contracts are on a full time basis so it is not possible to run a hybrid squad.
If Fev make it to Super League, they will run with a full time squad in 2024.
Swinton at home.
