  1. The only shame is the ground 2 traditional ones replaced with ones you needs binoculars to see the game hmmm

I thought it was a great view in the upper tier at Hunslet when we played them in the Northern Rail this year, good atmosphere and a top craic as well - a block full of Leigh fans were stood up in an area of the upper tier where there aren't any seats in place so a few stewards came up to try to get everyone to move in to empty seats at the other side of the stand. Cue everyone just sitting down on the concrete and the stewards shrugging their shoulders "good enough for us!" :D

  2. No doubt at all that Batley would consistently come out on top in terms of people's favourite days out in this league - even ended up there as a neutral last year for the Batley-Catalans Challenge Cup game! That said, I don't think the atmosphere can be as good as other grounds as you can always guarantee that a good number of fans will be in the bar or stocking up on cheesy chips at any given point during the game!

  3. You're gonna be very lonely when Widnes and Wakefield exchange places :P

Not wrong there, our local derby will be Halifax!

When that happens there will be Leigh, Barrow n Toulouse from outside Yorkshire. Toulouse is a must visit, Barrow as well but only if it's an overnight jaunt. Leigh is a good un, always good fun and a smashing new ground. I'll definately be a happy bunny.

Done both of our visits to Toulouse and already got the cash set aside for next year - Barrow is always an interesting one but travelling over t'hill every other week won't do much for our already declining away support :(

  4. Give him a bleedin shirt then

Don't think his discipline would be too great! Might even give Lee Doran a run for his money in the 'penalties conceded' category. Or maybe I'm stretching it a bit with that one?!

  5. Let me guess....big fella, shaven headed, got a tattoo on his neck? He was the clown that almost quite literally threw myself and a couple of other Leythers out of the ground at their place earlier in the season (after the game I might add, as if we'd be going anywhere other than out of the ground?!).

From what we were told at the time, he is an ex-bouncer who is banned from doing the doors these days so 'works' at the rugby for his fix of pushing and shoving.

  6. After your effort last night Matt your team are not that far away either. Good luck.

Can't say I'm particularly confident to be honest, was hoping for success in the NRC as much as the league once we knew top spot was out of reach.

We finished 9 points clear at the top in 2001 and then duly cocked it up in the play-offs (twice - lost at home to Oldham, beat yourselves then threw away a half time lead against the Smogs), though I can't see any signs at the minute of a similar collapse from Fev.

  7. Thought I'd get this in before anyone mentions about our lack of away support tonight, but it seems that the M62 was shut in both directions from about 6pm onwards which meant that our club coach(es) couldn't get over to Yorkshire, presumably along with anyone who was driving over after work etc - in the circumstances, I don't think we did too badly in the end!

  8. I hope Wakefield stay up, to be honest. We get on well with their lot after we played them in the cup last year but it's hardly a good day out going there. If Widnes are the ones going up then it means our local derby will be Halifax!

  9. Steve O'Connor has twice assured Widnes fans that their team will be in SL this time around. He wouldn't be stupid enough to do that if he hadn't been given a nodand a wink. So Robin get writing on that wall. The team going up starts with a W and is a cert. I hope and pray that the team coming down begins with the same letter.

It's a possibility, after all winning the Challenge Cup wasn't including in the 'box ticking' list ;)

  10. What makes me smile about all this is when we played them at theres they were chanting at us "where was you when you wa shiiiiite" There not even that shiiiiite yet, what would they be like if they really were shiiiiiite

We were really, really sheeite last year so there's your answer ;)

  11. Just browsing their forum, and it sounds like there having to cancell there coach as there's not enough booked on! Only 20 people upto this morning! That's quite poor, compared to how many we took to their place!

It's not being cancelled, just downsized. For what it's worth, we've got a minibus full as well independantly from LISA and I'd expect a few to travel by car straight from work etc. Been a bit disappointed with our away support in recent weeks, but it seems to cost a fortune to travel away these days.

  12. You mean to say you have supporters who swear as well? Are you sure they're not Fev fans in disguise trying to infiltrate other clubs to stir up trouble? :D

Always seems to be the Yorkie clubs that complain so you could be on to summat ;)

Current list is Halifax, Batley and Keighley (our past three home games), though the most entertaining one is Batley considering all 20 of them had the seated South Stand behind the sticks to themselves, so god knows how they heard owt!

See you Thursday, hope it's a good game with a home win even if the final score is 1-0

Don't think you've anything to worry about there, we started and finished well at Barrow on Saturday...shame about the hour in between!

  13. Why doesn't this thread suprise me?

It would appear that every club bar Fev have supporters who never swear, curse or cause trouble.

Before someone from Keighley comes on and says that every club has a minority remember this complaint is about 1 supporter and director or not, true allegation or not still a supporter.

Were any Keighley fans challenged about their language?

No? then this thread has no place, yes? then this should have been pointed out on the original thread, oh and I swore at the game so would you like to start a running tally?

Why post the part about the director? why not go through official channels and contact the club?

I reckon they should get a letter in the League Express and we can have our own private competition...on this evidence, they might have to make Thursday's game a 9pm kick off because of the 'bad language' reputation of both clubs!
