So the Bears are coming back to London.
Obviously, tickets aren't out for a while but I've got a mates 40th coming up and this would be a perfect gift.
Does anyone know of any tips for how to get tickets to a game even if you're willing to pay a bit more, like hospitality or part of a package deal? I don't fancy leaving it to the chance of being in a queue with a few hundred thousand people...

During the tournament, I was sporadically looking up what people were saying on Twitter, especially in other countries.
For some reason, there was a constant meme amongst German fans about Peter Wright throwing a 130 from his kitchen.
I tried to look this up in English but can find nothing about it. Anyone know anything?

Sky milking the Littler gravy train. I do hope this works out well for Littler, and isnt too much too soon, and that he has all of the right support around him:
It got to the point where they couldn't leave him out. It'll be much easier to sell tickets.
Other than Peter Wright it seems fine, although personally I don't like what they did to the Premier League a couple of years back.

It's a bit early for me to articulate properly, but the victor and first time champion, is not being spoken about much.
Tbf he's been a bit more humble about it than he was in the earlier rounds.
Amongst regular darts fans, he's being spoken about and lauded for his achievements. However, had he played Rob Cross say, it'd have been watched by 1.2 millionish people. The 3.68 million figure was all about Luke Littler.
When the dust settles, he's achieved his dream and is probably the second most famous darts player in the country right now. I also think there was something in what he said. The age and ability of Littler opens up the very possibility of Taylor like dominance on the horizon. It's far from guaranteed and he might go the other way, but if he continues to develop there might be few opportunities for other players to win for a while.

Absolutely incredible figure.

It’s been a great story and story telling is the key in all walks of life.
As a darts fan, I must say I've been surprised by the whole thing. I get that he's only 16 and how rare that is, but I'm not quite sure why this has resonated so much with the public. It's not like he looks 16, and is it so hard to believe that you could be exceptional at a sport like darts at 16? Darts fans know that it is (a 28 year old Luke Humphries is the 7th youngest major winner ever) but I'm didn't think the public would quite get that.
Darts is the real winner, especially when it comes to the World Championships in future. Millions more people than usual have discovered how exciting a game it can be to watch and play. There is something about the speed and the nerves when going for a double etc that make it exciting. They might not become diehards who watch every week, which I'm not tbh, but I'm sure when the Worlds comes around there'll be plenty of interest again especially if Littler is in the running.

4-4. Some match this, real ebbs and flows.

Most unsettled he's looked, hopefully last night he can stay in it before he gets going.

His approach for finishes although not unique is different from the norm. Reminds me of when Whitlock joined the PDC. 140 on treble 18s last night.
He did one last night, I can't quite remember but he put himself on D10 in an unconventional way and it was insane.
He is the camerman's worst nightmare, they miss loads of his finishes.

I'm not saying he's not overweight, and probably like most people I've commented on it at some point. I'm from the North West, and he wouldn't be something way out of the ordinary.
He's hardly Andy Fordham, and he's young enough that it isn't necessarily set in for life. If you look at earlier videos of him, it's clear that he's really put the weight on in the past couple of years.
Maybe he used to be able to eat what he liked, and it's just caught up with him? Maybe the increased darts schedule has meant he's been eating a lot more fast food?
Who knows, but it's a bit early to be claiming he's on his way to a premature heart attack.

Apparently 2.32 million watched Littler's match last night, beating the record of 1.65 million for Taylor v Anderson from 2015.
You can sense this in the wider world. My Irish inlaws are over and everyone was sat around watching him last night; it's usually me in one room and everyone else in the other. My near-80 year old mother-in-law had literally no idea what was happening, yet was shouting at thr TV.
I've also been getting texts from people about it who never watch darts, showing just how much it has made the news.
He's a phenomenon, but I think tonight will be one step too far. I reckon 7-5 something like that but Humphries has finally brought his form from the whole year to the worlds.

Ha....it's just such a shame when a young lad is storing up a Bristow style early heart attack
Humphries proves it can be done without a belly ballast
That's a bit harsh IMO. He's overweight but not exceptionally so for a lad of his age in our country. One of the things people like about darts is that it's normal people, it's not an athletic endeavor.
IMO a large part of weight is about habits etc. His mum is a larger lady too, and to hear him talk about kebabs etc shows he has developed some bad habits.
Older darts players are probably larger than your average, but I suspect this is down to living out of a hotel and drinking so much. As for Humphries, he used to be much larger and made the effort to lose it.

Some match this.
We'll see what he's made of now. One dart away from being 4-1, but finds himself 3-2 up. Hopefully, he's able to just move on.

It would be really interesting to see how he handles being 2 sets down. You can see he might well get into his own head if that was to happen.
If it's fairly even he could struggle to keep the concentration given the commentators have said he hasn't been this deep before. Not sure what the junior comps lengths are. But would be surprised if they were as long as this.
Should be a cracker tonight!
I agree, potentially 11 sets tonight. Darts isn't athletic but that can be tough on the arm!

Really looking forward to tonight's action.
No one would begrudge Littler if he came unstuck - 16 yr old, World Championship Semi-Final on debut. But equally, really hoping he can push on and make the final. Darts isn't normally too high on our household sporting agenda, but after watching his first game, we have been glued to watching the tournament.
Anyone's guess who wins it overall. Thoroughly enjoying it.
Yep, the big question is how he reacts when he's not coasting into a lead. Other than going 2-0 in legs yesterday, he's basically blown all other opponents away and only lost any sets when he's been comfortably ahead.
How will he react when he's 2 sets down, or its 3-3? Judging by yesterday's averages, as long as Cross doesn't start as slowly, he's not going to have it all his own way.
I'm defo rooting for him now though.

Wow, what a shock. MVG was pretty awful tbh.

MVG not looking too convincing right now.
Take away the 16 year old thing, and you'd have to say Littler is the form player of the tournament right about now.

Barney v Littler next. I suspect Barney's experience will see him through, but wouldn't be surprised if the young lad continues his impressive march.
Barney doesn't seem right, but you'd have to think Littler will come across difficulties at some point.

MVG looking like his old self tonight especially in the vital moments.
Yep. Everytime Bunting hit a 60 or 45, he punished it with a big score.
Last year an on-fire Smith was all that could stop him, now he's gone I'm not sure who is firing enough to do it.

I've never seen a better example of 2020s era journalism than this. Petty, ranty, bitchy and all about winning culture wars battles.
Aaron Rogers can't be a great player who became a conspiracy nut. Because he's a conspiracy nut who is also on the perceived wrong side of a number of issues, he also has to have actually been an awful player. We can't have it that he might actually be good in any walk of life.
I mean he led the Packers to a 15-1 season that then lost in the playoff game! Talk about rubbish.
