My point exactly.
Make the cross a V, turn the red trims silver and the blue logos grey and you've got a great kit.
Oh, and a lion logo, not that knock off Sports Direct unofficial football WC logo!

Would have loved something along this colour scheme that Real Madrid used a few years ago:
Have a Chevron in those colours, a dark grey sponsor logo and the lion logo and you've got an iconic kit that's separate to anything else in club and international rugby, not to mention subtle and classy.

Anything would be better than the current logo, it looks horrific on every top and does nothing to help the design of any jersey. If anything needs a rebrand its that.
It's a million times better than the one that came before it, and that says something about his bad the one was!
I agree it looks too much like a rip off of the football badge. We lack identity. I'd have loved us to use the lion's head in white and go with a "White Lions" nickname.
I'm not holding my breath though for a decent brand, badge, kit, or fixture schedule surrounding it to be honest. Utterly amateur.

I also think the English contingent on this forum underestimate the saturation of AFL in Victoria. It's not really comparable to anything.
Not comparable to Premier League football in traditional Lancashire? Or London?

That 13 logo is a classic that should still be used!
With a bit of a modern tweek, that logo could still work well. Didn't need completely changing.

What was the attendance for this in the end? They had a big push didn't they?
Interesting that this result changed Hull's odds from 100/1 to 66/1 for the GF. Leeds and Hudds now at 50/1 (Leeds were at 25/1 and 6th favourites yesterday, no idea how!)

I think you need to look at your posts in the last week on this and end of season predictions. Most accepted that Warrington deserved the win but with a comment that you can't see them winning more than one game.
I think if you look at my post on this very thread, I said I was worried about this one. I predicted a win, but that doesn't mean I'd written them off at all.
I think they'll pick up another win. I don't think they'll pick up more than that, but that doesn't mean I'm writing them off. They certainly could do.

1. Catalans
2. Wigan
3. Saints
4. Leigh
5. Rovers
6. Salford
7. Warrington
8. Hull
9. Huddersfield
10. Leeds
11. Castleford
12. Wakefield
Don't know why people keep thinking Leeds are going to finish so high. They've been dreadful for the vast majority of the season.

This match has been mainly FC fans commenting before and after the game, writing Warrington off as a likely win for FC
2 Hull fans predicting a close Hull win is a strange qualifier for the terms "mainly" and "writing off"...

That's our season done now. Wouldn't like to say which two sides are going to be making up in the numbers in the play-offs but it's going to be interesting to watch.
Likely, yes. But it's not over until it's over.
Looking at the fixtures, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that 2 out of Rovers/Warrington/Salford only win 1 out of 4. They've all got a difficult run-in (and Salford play both Rovers and Wire).
Hull have an easier run in and hopefully we've got a few bodies back for the game against Leeds. We'd have to win all 4 though (unless the others get battered in their losing games and/or we hammer a few!).
Could go down to the last game.
Or it could be all completely over by next week

One positive for me is that we're addressing the sheer lack of size in the pack. Not just with the overseas players but with some of the younger players at the club. When Will Gardiner came on yesterday he dwarfed most of the rest of the pack.
As things stand we'll be competitive next season but we'll need to pull another Jake Clifford style rabbit out of the hat to make any real impact. The real platform for optimism for me are the reserves and academy players. We're up there with the best clubs in the game at that level and there's some genuine quality there.
We're going to be an extra half too now Trueman has done his Achilles. Could miss a chunk of the beginning of the season and I'm not sure how much we can rely on him not getting another as he has form now for picking up significant ones. Poor lad.

Not going to happen, never was, it wouldn't have happened anyway ignoring the fact that this was launched on the middle of a terrible run of form and a lot of negativity and bad feelings from a lot of the fans.
What is their biggest attendance in 50 years?

Anyone know how many were at Hull, Perpignan or Toulouse?
Think I heard around 11.5k announced. Can't remember the specific number.

It’s one thing Hull writing this season off as part of the rebuild, but seriously, what do people see in the current signs of 2024 squad building that provides a platform for optimism?
Genuine question
I think it's more that Tony Smith has finally got them playing in a reasonable manner that provides optimism, without giving up or capitulating. It took 10 weeks to get there, but I'm proud of the turnaround in defence. If they can pay like they have done since Round 10, I think the playoffs are easily reachable.
I don't think we'll kick on to the next level without some bigger signings, but for once we're working on the foundations rather than surface-level.

Interesting that the West Coast has the glory considering the US game's heartlands has traditionally been on the East Coast. Is there a shift going on?

Visiting the in-laws in Hull and managed to get to the game. Like you, I thought Hull were really poor.
Warrington just had to be patient. Play-offs seem unlikely for Hull based on todays performance.
We need some bodies back. I think it's just too little too late for us, but I'm at least glad we managed to turn the season round to the point where we at least had a shot at reaching the playoffs.
I'd be more excited about next year if I were confident we could replace the players we've lost with just as good, but I don't think that's possible. At least we're playing with heart now though!

Hull were very poor with the ball. We lost Trueman in the first half (looks serious, was clutching his leg immediately). We were with Houghton also, meaning we were relying on Dwyer (and you never get any settled structure with that guy!). Dwyer must have knocked on from a scoot half a dozen times. Just runs into no where and freaks out with dummies until he gets smashed! Our completion rate must have been absolutely shocking.
I think missing Hoy, Tuimavave, Houghton, Sao, Taylor and then Trueman was too much for us to have any real chance attacking. Defence was ok, but we missed a lot of one-on-ones against Williams and Dufty that ultimately cost us.
Wire as a team leveled up in defence. I'd say Hull had a huge amount of territory and couldn't do anything to get through (although we did make it easy by just surrendering the ball!). Their attack consisted of individual efforts rather than team plays. It wasn't a great performance from either side in attack.
Hull's season is all but over. They need to win all 4 games to have a slight chance and must rely on the others to only get 2 (only one can get more). Possible, but not likely.
Warrington didn't show me enough to believe they can get 3 wins in the last 4. Think it's Rovers and Salford.

Well I managed to make it to the game 25 minutes late. We conceded just before I got in the gate. Dufty seems to be and to carve us up easily at times. Other than that, fairly close game. 12-4 to Wire at HT.

Did you enjoy your drinks yesterday?
I'm reasonably hopeful for this one so that probably means we'll lose.
But I'll stay optimistic for my prediction,
Hull 24 Wire 18.
My god, I put way too much confidence in predictive text last night!

I personally dont like any 'blue' on an England kit. Another shirt i won't be buying. The last England shirt I bought was the 2013 world cup - plain white, with some red trimming. Then, fun with flags emerged for a good number of years.
Then the blue.
I really liked that shirt. It had a subtle flag on it. An all white shirt with a light grey chevron would have fit well with the "wall of white" theme they were going for.

Surprised they haven't gone with the England lion-head logo yet to go the full GB route!

I actually don't mind this. If we're going to market something, this would be an easier sell to the wider public. I know 'exploiting' Rob's condition is a bit murky but as long as it does good, I think it's OK.
Could calling it 'Rugby Aid' make it more appealing to a FTA broadcaster?
Rugby Aid
Rob Burrow's White Rose XIII vs Kevin Sinfield's Red Rose XIII
