The leopard print is not so much the issue it's how poorly designed the kit it. Sponsors logos and badge don't look right and the back of the shirts look terrible. I don't know whether that's down to a branding company or Ellgren but I think anyone half decent could design a very nice shirt while also sticking to the branding

This. I never had an issue with the idea if the rebrand. I actually thought  Leopards was quite good and the reasons behind it well-meaning. The execution was just so embarrassingly amateur.

I think better execution would make a cracking jersey that could sell well to a lot of new fans they could pick up on the back of this story. If it's ######, they've missed a big opportunity.

  2. I genuinely think they've got a great opportunity to go all in with the leopard print. You're never gonna get a better chance at a successful sporting rebrand than they've just got. If they go back to tradition, they'll lose a lot of what they've just gained here.

Get the stadium seats redone to leopard spots ASAP. Or jungle colours 🤣

Great final neither side deserved to lose .To us neutrals by that I mean us with no chance in rest of of season are hoping Leigh get to the GF and win it .so Leigh the season is far from over dont get a hangover

I can see Leigh starting to drop off now, personally. It's really hard to come down from a high like that, especially for an inexperienced group of players. Individually, there is a lot of experience there that night steer them through but I think with the shallow squad depth, they're going to struggle.

Hope they do well though, unless Hull manage to squeeze in!

Well, it's an explanation at least, and fair play to Huddersfield for accommodating it. But if we're going to have the WCC (and I think we should) then it should be properly incorporated into the season, we shouldn't be relying on the teams agreeing to play on the weekend of the challenge cup to make it happen. There should be no games other than the finals this weekend.

They used to start a week earlier, but that was it the WCC was over here. When going over there, you need preparation so you'd have to start 2 weeks earlier in that case.

Hopefully the restructure next season can accommodate for this.

I'm not aware, so what is the reasoning? It will have to be good to explain why there's a top flight game being played on the same weekend as one of our two flagship events.

We kindly agreed to postpone this round 1 fixture to allow Saints time to prepare and travel to Australia, this game has needed re-arranging since last November, the only free weekend both teams had was this weekend after Saints were knocked out of the cup, so to save having to re-arrange for a midweek game later in the year or squash in 2 games in a matterof days at a risk to player welfare the clubs and the RFL agreed that this weekend was basically the only available  slot to fit the match in.

We were inconvenienced enough by not playing in round 1 when everyone else did so it's only fair we aren't so again by playing Friday, Wednesday, Friday some time later on in the year when everyone else getting a decent break between games.

The kick-off is 5pm on Sunday, it will have no bearing on the cup final.

    Good enough for you?

I`d day far more than niche these days mate, in fact one of the best drawing, widely followed teams in the NRL and really getting a roll-on now with developing the game in Victoria, record participation this year.

And whereas once they used to get newspaper coverage like the double-header in Perth did this week, i.e. one column 7 pages in from the back of the paper, to getting quite decent coverage nowadays and as is often commented on in the Aussie forum by people who live there, heaps of Storm merch to be seen around Melbourne. I` don`t think you can underestimate the effect this has either.

Would Victoria benefit from a second team? Surely a big derby match would be the next step to really building a strong foothold there?

Is there a rugby league following that good the Storm in disdain that could be tapped into?

He had no playing experience at the pro level and worked in lower levels, name me any modern coaches who have used the same path. He is doing okay but to try and imply that Wigan didn't take a gamble is simply wrong. You could say it's one of the biggest gambles far more than burgess.

Rob Powell at London Broncos (2011-12) I believe had no pro playing experience, but I might be misremembering.

They can't buy a win though. Stranger things have happened but at this stage you've got to look at the teams that have got momentum. At this stage that it Hull and - out of nowhere - Huddersfield.

Whatever the result next week, Hull KR are going to have a massive challenge on their hands to put it behind them and refocus on the league. Not saying they can't do it, but history shows how hard that is to do, especially for teams who aren't used to playing in those games.

Warrington look absolutely hopeless. Leeds are too inconsistent. Salford can't find a win. Even though they both still have ground to make up Hull and Huddersfield are the only ones who look capable of putting a significant run together.

    1. Catalans

    2. Wigan

    3. St Helens

    4. Leigh (same with Rovers, next week could well take a huge emotional toll)

    5. Hull

    6. Huddersfield

    7. Hull KR

    8. Warrington

    9. Leeds

    10. Salford

    11. Wakefield

    12. Castleford

Relegation will go a long way towards being decided when they play each other. Its a coin flip really, but I'm just edging towards Trinity.

I really do hope we can manage to scrape in, especially in 5th. Saints or Leigh in the first round would be very difficult regardless, but if we somehow managed to even get that far, I'd rather play Wigan than Catalans in the next round and 5th is the only small chance we'd have to avoid them (if 6th also manage to win in the first round).

    I'm dreaming though! 🤣

What if the team that comes first has the bye in the last round of fixtures ?

Has a bye week two weeks in a row (last week of fixtures, then first week of finals).

Then they have 2 weeks off.

But you'd offset the chance of that happening by making the lowest-ranked nations have the bye in the last week and second lowest on the second to last week, etc.

Looks like all the excitement will be at the bottom of the table. Can't wait to watch that unfold.

I see three battles so far.

I think LLS is sewn up, but a couple of defeats could happen, yeah never know!

Battle for 2nd and a bye in the playoffs between Wigan, Saints and Leigh.

Relegation battle between Cas and Wakey.

Everyone else battling for 5th and 6th and it really could be any of them.
