Is that Senri Yawaguchi on the drums? She seems to be quite the teenage sensation.

Been meaning to post this for a while. If you have a Lidl nearby and you're a wine drinker, I would urge you to check out their Spring Wine Collection. There are some exceptional wines. A white from Tokaji Furmint that isn't a desert wine (traditionally associated with the region) is particularly good. Two Australian Cabernet Sauvignons (Coonawarra & Margaret River) which at only £6.49 are frankly better than any reds I have had for under £50. An Australian Clare Valley Riesling is also exceptional. A New Zealand Syrah at a slightly more expensive £8.99 is also outstanding.
Lidl is a bit of a frustrating shop for me. As the crow flies, my nearest branch is actually quite close, but a park, a reservoir and some convoluted streets in between make a trip there a longer journey than I fancy most of the time.

Recently, whenever I see or hear Semi "Harold!" Radradra'a name, the chorus from this annoying Eighties song pops into my head and stays there.

The Reassembler on BBC4. I can't think of anyone other than James May who could carry off this sort of slow TV.
Just watched tonight's, where he assembled a Stratocaster copy. Absorbing, in a quietly pedantic way. I think I'll catch up on the other shows.

An entertaining read: Claudio Ranieri's two penn'orth.

Enjoy the sun-kissed groove and try to forget that this is Tarby's golfing mate Kenny Lynch, who also produced the Arthur Mullard/Hylda Baker cover of You're the one that I want.

Last night, enjoying the discography of both Greezy Wheels and Dan Hicks & his Hot Licks. Close enough in style that you can put it on shuffle play and just enjoy...

I am just catching up with episode 1 of ITV's The Durrells. A whole lot better than I expected; eccentric, good-natured and fun.
Just finished watching episode 1. Okay, Spiro is not nearly gnarled and gruff enough, and Theodore is about 30 years too young. Otherwise, very few bum notes. It takes me to a happy place.

'Robot Holocaust' - A hero called Neo battles an evil computer who has enslaved humans to provide power for it.
13 years before 'The Matrix'. But without the production values.
I just watched this again. Why? Oh, dear God why?
Okay, the reason is Angelika Jager as the chief bad girl. She'd be great in silent movies. Anything to stop her reciting phonetically memorised dialogue like that. But she is fab on the optic nerves...
Here's a taste of the thespian talent on offer.

They need to put the moose on the table, get their ducks in a row, then take this offline for some bluesky out of the box thinking. Plenty of non-military garbage they can talk (assuming none of those are borrowed from the military).
Not the military - I think you may actually be channelling Donald Trump.

You couldn't do any worse
He could do a lot worse... he could accept the Villa job.

I took a detour into blended malt the other day, as it was heavily discounted. Famous Grouse's 'Smoky Black' isn't very smoky, I'm afraid. Once you realise that the bottle is tinted glass and actually pour it, it isn't very dark either (although many whiskies colour and flavour their drams with caramel). Overall, forgettable.
For the price, you can get a perfectly decent (and often better than that) single malt if you do a little research and buy the best of the supermarket 'own label' offerings.

I just found my DVD box set of 'The Nero Wolfe Mysteries', so that's the weekend gone...

Just finished Absolute Pandemonium by Brian Blessed. Bloody brilliant! Makes it even better when reading it in Prince Vultan's voice.
Docked points for not posting that with your caps lock on...

10 minutes of domino-toppling at World record level. Strangely hypnotic.

This photo just popped up on my Twitter timeline. The USA All Stars v France, on Christmas Day, 1953.

I am currently waiting for the second-hand price of Ed 'Stewpot' Stewart's autobiography to drop again, following a price spike due to his recent death.
Why? This is why.

Ha! Im so far out of date.
Ive just started "Peter Kay Sitting in a Car with his Workmate". S'okay.
And The Affair. Only watched first episode. Could go either way on that one....
I missed the first few episodes of Peter Kay's Car Share, but had recommendations from several people, so caught up with the series. I liked it a lot, once I got into it.

I recently installed the Channel 4 app on my Amazon Fire Stick and they have the complete sets of 'Absolutely' and 'The Adam & Joe Show' available to watch free. Given that there's been close to naff all special on TV this holiday weekend, this has been a godsend.

...and one for the Cherry and Whites! Not really my kind of music, but the band's name warrants a mention.
