I hear the internet is going that way too, best to be ahead of the crowd on this one I reckon.

As regards the Furutech, the accompanying leaflet and the website FAQ page don't really address all the setup issues, so there'll be a bit of experimentation with playback and recording settings before I've worked everything out for optimal performance.

I turned all the digital circuitry off on my CD player and used an external dac the results were like night and day.
I use the tuner in my DVD player for most of my radio listening, as DTV has a higher bitrate than DAB - Radio 3 through the DAC is really very good. As for CD, I haven't actually played a disc in ages. When I buy a CD, it immediately gets ripped to the external hard drive and backed up, then I play the files through the laptop.

A lot of the 'audiophile' labels tend rather too much in the direction of polite, chin-stroking, beautifully recorded jazz-lite tedium or all-too-predictable classical selections, but there is more and more stuff becoming available. The Find HD Music search engine is worth checking out, although not all American sellers will allow foreign customers to create an account.

The Welsh Harp reservoir near where I live in Hendon is usually teeming with birds. There's a nice winding path round the North half of the lake which I take once in a while.

Which Dac Futtocks spill the beans
The Furutech ADL Esprit. I had the TOSLink (from DVD Recorder) and Coaxial (from TV) inputs working last night, but couldn't extract the driver for USB operation from its *.rar file. I've done that on my work computer (which has WINRAR on it) and will be installing it this evening. Sounds excellent already - can't wait to feed it some high-resolution FLAC files!

I spent a bit more than I usually do, but it was worth it. I've also upgraded the isolation platform for the turntable, and taken delivery of a new DAC/ADC/Headphone amp, so there will be a lot of listening and several vinyl rips over the next few weeks.Lord have mercy that's a good trawl....

Was probably code for 'this film has sh@gging in'.
It was usually code for "starring Isabelle Adjani and/or Greta Scacchi". Which pretty much meant the same thing.

Honestly, you two.
Probably too old for the 'European cinema' seasons on Channel 4, eh?
I remember Channel 4's attempts to boost ratings with the 'red triangle'.

I've watched the last couple of episodes of 'The Fall' - I must say, Mark E.Smith scrubs up well.

Happy birthday to Gene Wilder, who is 80
today.

I haven't seen it either, but the general premise seems to be Dungeons'n'Dragons'n'Boobies. HTH.Psst. I've never seen an episode. I didn't even know what it was until the BAFTA's showed snippets for the nominees.
I don't know how it's any different from all the other medieval/Tudor/ye olde series that use British actors like the Tudors or Merlin or that Borgias or any of those that I didn't watch either.

I've been moving steadily towards cheaper cuts of better-quality meat in my diet. They take longer to make good, but the results are worth it. With suppliers like Donald Russell, you might wince at the cost of, say, a beef steak or joint, but cuts like cheek, tail, rib trim are well priced and delicious. Last time I had a fillet steak, I appreciated the tenderness, but was disappointed by the lack of deep beef flavour.

Crumpets seem like puff pasty in that its a lot less fuss to by them ready made and you're not really gaining much by making them yourselves. I admire the effort though.
One a side note, my missus bullied me into ordering one of these
Hasn't arrived yet so I don't know whether it is a genius purchase or another foodie gadget that never gets used.
If you don't use it for pizza, it's quite a nice heat source for sitting outdoors on an evening.

Brilliant news!

The latter, probably a dry frying pan.
I managed to find of couple of presentation rings at Asda, they're not big enough but it'll be reet. Smaller crumpets.
Cocktail Crumpets! Ooh, very a la mode.

I agree there. I have even seen some vegans saying that if you don't go vegan like, straightway, you may as well not bother.
Ridiculous, and liable to put off potential Vegans, so they're not helping their cause either. Reminds me of that character in 'The Simpsons' who claims to be an 8th-level vegan - he doesn't eat anything that casts a shadow.

I think it depends on what series it is!
If a fringe approaches or reaches eye-brows then I consider it long hair on a chap, it's long to me when my hair does anyway!
I think Slater's a bit of a stiff on-screen, and he's better in print than on TV.

Just bought a pair of Timberland boots, my first experience of the brand. Really really comfortable. Oh, and a 2 terabyte hard drive - 2 terabytes! I can remember using 8" floppy discs!
