there's got to be a caption competition in this.......
after ladies day at Ascot, Shaun reintroduces the Flared Shorts for the English man abroads summer wardrobe
I just can't help thinking Benny Hill is going to appear and slap Edwards on the head.

Good, eh?
Just a bit

Here's another YouTube linky for Ullman. I know you liked the Humble Pie version of "I Don't Need No Doctor", so I think you'll love this one. After Pie, Steve Marriott formed a band called Packet of Three and this is their take on the number. It starts with a nod to the blues origins of the number (Ray Charles) and after about a minute explodes into a full-on rock version. Enjoy.
Thanks for that. I really enjoyed it. Love the blues intro and the way it launches into rip-snorting rock 'n' roll.

Strangely, I've only ever seen one house sparrow, one goldfinch and no starlings, despite them being very common birds.
They maybe don't like the look of that aforementioned sparrowhawk.

A peacock flew across the road as I was cycling along yesterday.
I'm used to the deer running out of the woods, but that was a first.

Fairport Convention
Sandy Denny eh?
I know nothing of Fairport Convention, but I love Sandy Denny's vocals on Led Zeppelin's Battle Of Evermore.

he does. I saw him with Sabbath on the Mob Rules tour. He is much cissed but a hell of a voice
He gave Sabbath a new lease of life. Mob Rules and Heaven And Hell have some outstanding tunes.
On my second hearing of Light In The Black at the mo. Thanks to VRG and your good self.

Mastodon - The Czar
Think Crack The Skye is my album of the year so far.

I went to see Hawkwind last night in York, they finished with this and it was excellent.
One notable thing about it was I have never seen Dave Brock get so involved at front of stage before - when I have seen them before he has usually stood at the back playing guitar or keyboards. Last night he was he up front, playing guitar and singing on every song.
Been listening to Hawkwind a lot recently. At their best they are very, very good indeed.

Mastodon - Ghost Of Karelia
From their outstanding new album Crack The Skye

Supersuckers - I Want Drugs - As recommended by ullman ( not drugs the band )
Excellent.
Now you just need to get your ears around the rest of 'The Evil Powers Of Rock 'N' Roll'.

Monster Magnet - Brainstorm
The management bull**** thread made me do it.

I had lots of segs. On one splendid occasion at the age of fourteen, walking down the slope past Mothercare in Eldon Square shopping centre, puffing on a Capstan Full Strength, I went A over T.
Segs were ace.

On Friday I saw Wilko Johnson in Hebden Bridge. 61 years of age and he's still the most exciting guitarist in Britain.
Pleased to hear it. A genius guitar player and one of my all time favourites.

We have a crow in my back garden .Its as hard as nails, even next door neighbors cat gives it a wide birth. I have only started getting interested in bird spotting since Kate Humble graced my TV.
It's a sign you're getting old, mate.

The swifts are back above our house, circling in the blue sky.
Always a sign that warm weather is on its way.

I would like you all to cross your fingers please.
OK but when can we stop? It's really hard to use a keyboard or mouse.
-
This one looks better in b/w
Can't quite put my finger on why, but that is a cracking photo.

The Supersuckers' 20th anniversary concert.
-
Yep.
They also did a 5 track EP collaboration where they performed songs like Supersuckers "Creepy Jackalope Eye", Earle's "Angel Is The Devil" and also a great version of the Stones' "Before They Make Me Run".
Creepy Jackalope Eye is a great tune.
Cheers for that, I might see if I can track down a copy.
-
Funnily enough, on the Steve Earle album L'Angelo and I were on about above he does a wonderful collaboration on a song called 'NYC' with The Supersuckers.
Really? I'm intrigued.
I've lost count of the number of times I've seen The Supersuckers, the self-proclaimed Greatest Rock 'N' Roll Band In The World.

Get Some! - Nashville P ussy - the lovechild of Motorhead and AC/DC.
Saw 'em in York on Friday supporting The Supersuckers.
They weren't bad at all. An added bonus was that the singer exposed the most hilarious Max Wall hairstyle when he took his hat off.
