    Seems my optimism was misplaced.

My sister's fella is back in ICU.... trachy back open and ventilator back on.

For the first time the consultant has suggested he might not make it and has warned that if he does, he will be nowhere near his former self. His lungs have been ravaged by the virus.

Anxiety is now back in place.....

Really sorry to hear that. Hope things take a turn for the better.

Did they also win consecutive Lance Todd Trophies?

I know Sneyd's not everyone's cup of tea but his value to the team in terms of winning close games is undoubted. The game in Catalans, live on Sky last year when we went from leading 24-28 to losing 30-28 with about a minute to go is a perfect case of Sneyd's ability.

No other player I've seen in 40 years of watching RL could pull off what he did in the last seconds of that game. A place kick enticing the opposition to catch it before it went 10m, a penalty goal from halfway, a touch finding kick off plus a drop goal under extreme pressure.

Could we sign a better scrum half?, obviously, but his value in games like the above is immeasurable.

    Anyway...Albert Kelly...he's rubbish ain't he.

Spot on, mate, and if people want an example of whether he has the ability to turn a game around they need look no further than the game in which he won the first of those Lance Todd Trophies. Warrington had it in the bag until his 40-20 turned it on its head.

Not heard anything, would be surprised as we signed Ashton Golding to be regular full back with McIntosh, Senior and Gaskell as back up, plus Aidan McGowan, an academy lad who has signed first grade terms as cover.

It doesn't make sense for lots of reasons. Shaul himself has never expressed any desire to leave that we know of and he is only a couple of years away from qualifying for a testimonial season.

I was hoping we would be in for Evalds but Cas beat us to it obviously.

Maybe it will depend on the new coach, but I wouldn't be surprised to see faith put in Connor Wynne.

I could scarcely disagree more with your assessment of Shaul's worth to the team but I could live with that if there's any truth in the rumour that Shaul is on his way out. Wynne looked an outstanding talent when he stepped in during Shaul's lengthy absence with concussion last year.

  5. 1 hour ago, RL does what Sky says said:

Many have won the cup with two different teams in a three year period but it seems that only ones to have done so consecutively are ...

Frank Collier    Wigan 1963    Widnes 1964

    Don Vines    Wakefield 1960    St.Helens 1961

Brian Lockwood     Hull KR 1980       Widnes 1981

    Lee Gilmour      Bradford 2003      St.Helens 2004

No wonder I couldn't think of any. Same as OF, I already knew about Brian Lockwood but that was it.

Not at all. It was only the other night while eating a curry that my Mrs said ‘this is hot’ that I realised I was barely registering any heat. I wasn’t a total spice wuss before but might struggle with a vindaloo for example. It will probably be temporary

My son had several of the symptoms of Covid 19 a few weeks back. Complete loss of sense of taste and smell being one of them. His girlfriend thought it would be a great test if he ate a teaspoon of Colman's English Mustard in one go. It never touched him.

In his case it was definitely temporary and his sense of taste and smell returned to normal fairly quickly.
