Is Joel Tomkins as much a cheapshot thug as Bailey or is he just a hotheaded idiot? He should have been fined for his idiocy (being a 'pickhead'?in his foolish lashing out at McGuire but seeing as it was so soft all it deserved was a fine & a sin binning at the very most.
He got away too lightly but it was moronic rather than dangerous, there-in lyes the difference, in my opinion.

Sean Long had an off-day... It's obviously his fault they lost & Hull FC shouldn't have signed him...
-
Both Eorl Crabtree & Robbie Savage have long blonde hair but I think Crabtree is about 3 time the size [height & build] of Savage so I don't think that comparison works too well.

No-one apart from Wigan fans will remember who was League Leaders in 2010, rightly or wrongly the most consistent side over the course of the season can fail to win GF due to bad luck with injuries, other teams timing their form right or one off flukes and therefore not be considered the best side (see Leeds / Saints for two of the past three years).
What a crock! Can RL fans get any more negative? St Helens minus Longy & Eastmond have no chance of the SL Grand Final & neither do Leeds, Crusaders or Hull KR so RL fans need to buck up their ideas. So what if Wigan have fluffed it in recent years? They have a real chance of winning the brass varse. I still think only Wires are good enough to spoil Wigan party.
-
I think Wigan will win it but if Warrington play the same form as they had at the Challenge Cup Final then they're a huge contender. I guess the only teams in a shot are Wigan, Wires & St Helens. Leeds have no chance in hell.
-
Can we appeal and get Bailey banned? It would be worth 300 quid.
Sound good to me. How much do we have to put in?
-
TGG, 'nuff said.

Did Foster make the shortlist?
-
I'm a neutral although I think Wigan will probably reach the final but if any Wigan fans are disheartened if they've 'only' won the league leaders shield but not reach the final the they're not worth classifying as fans. They should be proud to have finished top of the league & hope they can be champions of the engage Super League XV.

If you have access to the Cross-code forum I think there's a thread about this in there from a few months back.

Sevens isn't on at the 2012 games.
That's what I said.

I thought that the ARU were wanting GI & Thurston to switch codes before the 2016 Olympics so the could play for the Wallabie 7s squad but why would they? RL is far better that RU 7s. Due to the all the huge amount of space wouldn't Inglis run ring around his opponants & not really find it any sort of competition?
-
Melbourne? Seriously?? There's perfectly legitimate reasons for the salary cap. Firstly so teams are on a level-ish playing-field, so to speak. Secondly so teams don't bankrupt themselves to compete with the teams with the most money. Melbourne smashed this & cheated. How's that 'anti-expansionist'??

The Polynesians/South Pacific Islanders are better than he English players?... Not likely. What percentage of the PNG team (the Kumuls?) play in the NRL? I'd imagine they're an excellent squad but don't seem them being that much better than the French.
As I say I don't think we (England RL) are that far off the Aussies & New Zealanders skills-wise. As I say I just think they're fitter (faster) and have more stamina to play at a higher intensity. However, unfortunately I do think their climate is a factor. Is there anyway our players can get vit D supplimentation?

Ah! Crud!

Having said that I'm sorry to say I'd prefer RU embarrases themselves with under 25,000 in the Neu Camp than RL. Although I would like it if there was a late Challenge Cup round in the 'mini Neu Camp' (?) (their smaller stadium?), I can dream...
-
I'm not a dreamer I don't think we can win the G4N but I think the Aussies & the NRL lovers really underrate our Backs. It may take England 5-10 years to get up to the fitness & stamina levels of the Kangaroos & Kiwis but I think we're up their skill-wise. I think it could be a Aussie Vs NZ final if they are as good as the Kiwis will be as strong as they may be but I think the games between the full strength NZ squad playing a full strength England squad may be fairly close. I might be possible that the weaken Aussies may only beat us by 10 - 15 points (maybe?).
I just hate how people who drool over the NRL really underrate England even after how well we played in the G4N 2010 & even though the French 'Test' was a non-contest we still showed our class. People on here talked about how Briscoe wasn't a strong enough FB last year it seems we'll have 2 fantastic FBs this year.
-
I think the loss of GI from the Aussie squad is good news for England.
I'd say there are a fair number of quality Backs in SL the likes of Eastmond, Briers, Longy, S Tomkins, McGuire, Myler, Hall, Atkins, Lomax, T Briscoe, Senior, Thomas, Bosc, etc.
Will the Aussie selectors forget about (snub?) Jamie Soward in the way the NSW selectors did?

In what way was The Telegraph Match Report 'Negative'?

Okay, I'll drop the dry humping jokes now, as I realise you're too young for the smutty joke. My bad!
I live down in the south west so don't get to watch any pro/semi pro rugby at any grounds but I enjoy playing the amateur game & watching SL & the occasional CC game on TV and thoroughly agree with Hannibal. Got my SL Grand Final ticket on it's way. Wayhey!

Even though Leeds weren't playing at their best I thought Warrington were superb, they completely shut Leeds out and when Leeds did get over the whitewash Mathers was able to hold them up. Plus Lee Briers passing & kicking game was fantastic.
I'm a neutral but have enjoyed watching Warrington & Wigan play this season.
-
Warrington didn't let Leeds play, and thoroughly deserved the win, they are a very good team and could be a big match team for a good few years, although they are my teams biggest rivals, I can honestly say they have waited a long time for this era and good luck to them. and Wendell if you read this well done mate you stuck with them since childhood. you watched my team destroy everyone for years. its great to have a successful team and you deserve all the success coming to your fans. i know tons of long term wire fans and though i love the banter with them, you cant deny them the 2 challenge cup wins thoroughly deserved and enjoy it wire fans. Widnes til i die .maybe we might get the chance in a few years to kick your teams ***** one again
Well said.
It was fine on TV as it was pretty clear which team was which close-up but Warrington should have worn their away kit. But I guess green & red ribbons may not have worked on the Cup.
-
I'm sure its real scientific but given the choice of running into Adrian Morley or being involved in a 50 mph road accident I'd take my chances with Morley everytime.
I think I'd prefer to be involved in the car crash would probably hurt a lot less.
-
On his current form he's superb & really leading Warrington but they have an excellent squad to back him up. Apart from him & Gareth Thomas would the Welsh squad have any other World Class Rugby players? Surely the French have at least 5-6? Good luck to Wales, I don't want to be cynical but if he leads them to victory in the European Cup then bows out, wouldn't they get annialated in the 4 Nations next year?
-
I remember seeing a blue St Helens shirt on the TV. They showed a large section of supporters wearing reddy-brown jerseys with yellow & white 'V's on it in the build-up.
Chris Bridge pulls out of 4 Nations for family reasons

Aren't Inglis & Senior built like Second Rowers? I'd definitly agree we shouldn't be playing Second Rows at Centre. I've read that Ellis has played Centre but I'm guessing that would have been when he was a smaller build when younger? As he's too big built to have the speed needed for a Centre & he's too good a Second Row to play out of poition. Even if Macca can't convince Senior to come out of Internantional retirement & weaker Centres is still better than playing a Second Row or an other Back out of position.
