I was at the game. I am assuming that knowing we won’t be in super league next year whatever happens is going to have some impact.
It looks like it is going to be a long season.

When we played at Gillingham a few years ago there was clearly discussions going on about a potential move there. Medway Dragons seemed to be going well then but I don’t know what their current position is.
Comparing a couple of one-off matches at Ebbsfleet with Wimbledon is not really a fair comparison. I went to the first match at Plough Lane and there were clearly a lot of Wimbledon fans there. The crowds then dropped off.
I don’t think that there is any easy answer. I would have preferred to stay at Trailfinders. We are obviously going to get bigger crowds because we are in the Super League. Then what? The most likely thing is another move in 2-3 years unfortunately. The Broncos are clearly a different sort of club to most, if not all, of the other clubs in the league. I just accept that now.

This was my first ever Challenge Cup Final after many years following rugby league and it turned out tobe an enjoyable match and a really memorable occasion. I would thoroughly recommend that anyone who has never gone to a Challenge Cup final should buy a ticket and go along as there was a really great atmosphere in the stadium.

No idea who is going to win but very excited to be on the train and on the way to my very first challenge cup final after so many years following rugby league!

If the NRL, Australian and US Government had a brain they would create a 8 team (from PNG, Fiji, NZ, Tonga, Samoa, Hawaii and even New Caledonia) professional competition to consolidate the region. With TV And sponsorship help funding the comp and Governments investing in the rest (for example staduims, junior development and training facilities). They could call it NRL Pacific.
No. I don’t think that would work. I think a PNG team in the NRL though would after 15 years, create another very competitive international team.

I have driven past this ground quite a few times and I have to say I was amazed when I saw the state of the stand by the road.
You look at that ground and it amazes me that people visited Ealing and “That’s not Super League.” Anyway it was an enjoyable afternoon despite the weather and until the ball was dropped in the last five minutes I thought London might snatch it.
the vegan burgers were quite nice actually.

I imagine a lot of us doubted whether the World Cup would actually take place in France anyway at the end of the day.
I thought the Four Nations was going well before it was scrapped. With Tonga and Samoa doing so well recently a five nations or even a six nations could probably work too.

Northern hemisphere probably more difficulties. We have had so many chances to expand.
Southern hemisphere more expansion. A NRL team in PNG would probably mean they could have an international game without needing a competitive English team.
London RL I hope can move forward as a spectator sport but the Broncos recent decisions have been absolutely baffling.

cheaper and not demanding landlord
There are a lot of assumptions in that statement.

The Broncos seem to have become dissatisfied with every landlord that they have ever had recently so why would it be different at Skolars?

Says Skolars are considering moving to two venues that the Broncos have previously played at. Which for any other club would probably narrow it down a bit.
Hopefully Ealing and not Gillingham and Esher.

1. Ealing was a good place to walk round the pitch and mix, particularly on a sunny day.
2. The food and the beer was better there.
3. We achieved promotion on the pitch while we were there.

The other option for London I suppose is for IMG to put their weight behind Skolars instead of the Broncos.

As I said at the time we should have stayed at Trailfinders. Wimbledon was way too big for where we are at the moment and where we are likely to be for the next 5 to 10 years.
Does Man of Kent have any comment to make I wonder?

A really interesting development I think. I hope they don’t move grounds and I sincerely hope this is the start of something very positive for RL in London.

Bottom line you can give away as much free this free that discount this discount that and say goodbye to the pie and hotdog but all that really matters is what the players do for 80 minutes
Having some food and a drink while you are there and catching up with people was part of the experience for me and that was one of the reasons I liked Trailfinders.

The 4G pitch should have been enough to rule it out as a ground full stop.
Widnes have a 3G pitch I believe.

Trailfinders ………and took all money from the bar and food takings
How many times are we going to hear this? It usually crops up every time we move.
The reality is that unless we are are talking about actual figures it’s all speculation anyway. The attendances don’t lie. We have been in steady decline since the Stoop albeit with a slight upturn while we were at Trailfinders.
Actually I didn’t find Trailfinders soulless at all. You could easily walk round the ground and mix in the sun plus it had better beer and food. There was even a great night in the bar when we beat Toronto and got promotion.

London need to replace Davis Hughes to be successful. A progressive group with a defined vision backed by Millions is the only way London will work. Anything less and it will be a repeat of the last 25 years, small crowds, up and down between the divisions......
Why not let the Broncos carry on and set up a new club in that case? Perhaps in SE London.

The question will then be who is going to replace him. If anyone?
