Exactly right, Fev are struggling to get a squad together, but I still dont  want dual reg. For Wakey to do it, with their ‘huge budget’ is embarrassing.

We’re struggling to put a quality squad together at short notice so I’m happy with the duel reg with Wigan.  It’s not embarrassing in my opinion.

I accept that, but you are apparently spending the most money ever in the Championship, but are still using duel reg?. Fev may have failed last season, but at least we were self sufficient enough to only use our own players.

We will still be self sufficient, full time, elite academy and running a reserve team.  Because we’re late signing players duel reg with the strongest deepest squad in SL will help.

Front is really nice for both kits, back would look better with only the 1 sponsor above the number. Doesn't look like there is much room for the players names on the back of those

The away shirt hasn’t been officially released, you’re looking at leaked images of the Scholarship/academy shirts so sponsors are different.

Look at the PL. By this measure, Arsenal at Highbury, Spurs at WHL, City at Maine Road etc, shouldn't have been in the Premier League.

The difference is that there is a general consensus that clubs stadia need to move forward either through new stadia or major renovation.

Now teams shouldn't be punished for not building or developing but there has to be a recognition that things at some point will have to change.

Both Wakefield and Cas have recognised that.. and again.. and again and every time has been a false dawn and no one really believes them anymore.

I believe work started on Belle Vue more than 12 months ago.

Haha I know regards Miller, as a Cas fan, I just wish they (or anyone else) would take him!

I think as much as it can be a tough league, there's almost a case of you dont need to start the season with a really strong squad, you can pick up so many players mid season through loans ect!  I expect to see some of the likes of Ryan Hampshire, Sam Eseh (back on loan), Elliot Wallis, Richie Myler, Adam Milner, Hugo Salabio, Olpherts and similar, who are all based locally and will go well in the championship join on loan mid season.

Alongside maybe a high profile NRL signing or two.

You’re probably not far wrong regards the squad, I expect funds will be channeled on off field IMG criteria making sure all boxes are ticked that we possibly can tick.  Investing in things LED advertising boards etc gaining as many img points as possible.  Regarding Miller he’s got 2 years left on a very lucrative contract he’s not going anywhere.  You should have done what we did, gone down and get rid of unwanted high earners.

You do know he’s not that rich? He owns a business on fev industrial estate not a chain of big businesses, he’s prob got less money than Campbell and clough at fev. He’s just taking over a club that is already at a good advantage. He will put money in this year but if they go up he won’t have too and probably won’t.

We will have to see what happens

Nice backtrack attempt but it's already out there . "We will be back in SL next year".

That is absolutely entitlement, thinking because you have been relegated, none of the existing championship clubs will have a chance. A year really isn't a long time so watch this space....

It’s not entitlement it’s IMG scoring.

I don't think id be too keen to see Trinity artificially saved by going going to 14 clubs. Let's face it all the best players have gone and we'd be left with the scraps again, this time with two other clubs fighting over them too. It would be a repeat of the season just gone which was not an enjoyable experience.

Haven’t you believed the no relegation rumours.

So wakey didn’t deserve to go down then as they weren’t worse side just petered out?

When the rules state that play off winners are champions then you are the best team in the league if you win the play off final.  I’d prefer the league format of winning the league makes you champions because play off Rugby makes winning the league irrelevant.

Yes. Hull has always been traditionally very strong with strong amateur and underage teams. It's amazing how this has never translated to professional level like it has in Wigan or St Helens. The ingredients have been there and the catchment certainly is, even with 2 teams.

    St Helens?

Talking to a mate who is a wakey fan, poor lad, he is extremely sceptical about this guy, his words were something along the lines of there's always a worry when people TALK about what they're going to do, what will happen rather than it actually happening.

I'm not saying this fella won't be true to his word, but there's an awful lot of talk about how much money he's got and what he's going to do and what Wakefield will

Tell your mate not to worry

I don't think it is a waste of money.

With having had the last two years in Super League, Wakefield will almost certainly currently be in the top 12 clubs in terms of attendance, finance, social media engagement and on field performance for the IMG gradings. Their stadium does/will meet the top IMG grade requirements. The only negative they seem to have is their catchment area - which one of their main competitors (Featherstone) share.

With the grade calculated over three years, on field performance is therefore likely to be pretty important for them next year (and a winning team is also likely to have better attendance, finance and social media engagement).

The clubs they are likely to be competing with for the 12th graded SL place in 2025 are Featherstone and Toulouse. If Fev go up this year, it seems likely that Wakefield (with the advantages of two years out of three in SL to Fev's one) will replace them in 2025 - a good year on field in the championship will help this. If Toulouse go up this year (having already had a year in SL) who gets that place in 2025 is likely to be closer and staying full-time and winning the championship (along with better attendance, etc) could tip the balance.

Once those 2025 SL places are confirmed, it is going to take something pretty drastic for there to be any promotion/relegation going forward. Next year could be vital in deciding the 12th club long term - Trinity are in the box seat, but (particularly if Toulouse were promoted this year) next year could be critical for the club's long term future and being full-time will help them a large amount.

    Totally agree

Without promotion it would appear to be a waste of money. But have they heard that SL will be expanded to 14 teams in the next couple of years.Being full time would help them if that is the case.SL will go to 14 teams it's just a matter of when.

Looking at the IMG criteria I’d be confident of top 12,score.
