  1. No one is saying anything new about it. For years one group of people have said xxx should merge to form one club, whilst fans of said clubs have just said no thanks, nothing to see here, move on. Then the day after we all repeat the same thing. Why should bradford fans watch a club, that plays out of a stadium, thats based in Huddersfield.
  2. I dont completely disagree with you but how do you get Salford to call themselves Manchester, how do you get Widnes to call themselves halton so that the whole borough feels involved, how do you get bradford, huddersfied & halifax to all disappear to form one club, the same goes for the Wakefield area? Until acceptable answers are found then there really isnt much point in keeping talking about this
  3. Who will be the stake holders in SLE? Will it be the same 14 clubs that we have now,or will it just be the 12 club who are left after two are relegated at the end of this season? Or will all clubs become stake holders?
  4. Thanks,i had a feeling comparing Huddersfield to Hunslet & Swinton wasn't really a fair comparison
  5. Population of Swinton is what? Population of Hunlet is what? Population of Huddersfield is what? Swinton is just a suburb of Salford now & Hunslet is a suburb of Leeds. Huddersfield is a suburb of ?
  6. Not sure what you mean by fourth tier?,isn't the sport staying at three tiers?
  7. If the powers that be deemed no club was good enough to replace Wakefield, then IMO, the league should have run with 13 clubs, when magic weekend came round, then Catalan should have been given two points, compensated, and told to stay in France. It would have shown everyone that the league wont accept failure in a licenced league
  8. Very true as far as i'm concerned,i'm not sure who to blame though. If Bradford & Wakefield had been relegated from the league when they went into admin, then we would still have a strong and confident licence system in place
  9. So if i've got this right, some people are saying its ok for wakefield to be in sl and constantly failing and going into admin cos they've got nothing to lose but fev shouldn't be allowed in because they're a cracking club thats well run, makes a profit and owns its own stadium and land?
  10. Your right Ken Davy has started to win trophies and that is brilliant. The problem is we have clubs who are jockying to play huddersfield in the playoffs because they know its the easiest way to the next round. Its not right is it?
  11. Celtic Crusaders sounds right, thanks. Didn't a large number of there players end up not having the right visas to work in this country and were concequently chucked out after?
  12. Crusaders at that time aren't a good example of good business, they broke every rule in the book to try and get were they and the rfl wanted them to be. Werent they the scorpions at that time?
  13. Breakaway isn't popular...most want hobnobs....but the rfl want some fudge
  14. Not surprising really with some of the politics that have gone on since licencing began
  15. I often thought i'd like to see a system were the home club sends "lets say" 1000 tickets to the away club for them to sell,be it in the league or cup games. The away club then gets to keep all the proceeds, whether they sell them for a fiver or more, that way every away club has a incentive to sell as many tickets as they possibly can for every game
  16. I agree thats the safest way of going about it but FEVs average was 2400 this season,if they had been promoted do you think they would have worked off that average for the coming season?
  17. Naturally but i cant believe swapping one northern clubs for another would alter the tv revenue, nor would losing catalan. Increasing clubs from France or other parts of the UK might do
