  1. Anyone who thinks away support is irrelevant is a fool. Anyone who thinks clubs dont factor in away support into there season budget is a fool. Huddersfield wouldn't be here without away support,Wigans average would be down quite a lot without saints and wire. It could quite easily be worth £200k a season
  2. I'm not sure Mr Glover & Mr Khan would agree with that. I'm also not sure the bloke who has supposedly re mortgaged his house to keep Wakefield afloat for one more season would agree either
  3. Wigan,Sts and leeds are your unis,Warrington want to be there,i cant think or another club thats anywhere near that. Yep DR is an answer,i actually joined this forum to fightv against DR but when enough clubs and fans think its the right way to go then the argument is lost. The amateures are now talking about using Pro players. Like it or nor things are changing. I just wish they would be open and honest about it. Wigan. Wire. Saints. London. Hull. Leeds. Giants?. 3French clubs. Strengthen the European league and strengthen the domestic league at the same time
  4. The sport has always developed the youth of tomorrow,it wouldn't be here if it haddn't. The difference now is that the NRL is the finishing school of these players and were these players play there best rugbyleague
  5. Well the obvious conclusion to the above posts is to reduce the number of clubs in SLE to 10 whilst at the same time increase the number of french clubs by 2,that would give us the best chance of getting French tv and sponsors on board. In 5 or 6 years time we could either reintroduce heartland clubs,or better still,we could look at another London franchise, giving us 2 clubs in the capital or franchises from other parts of the uk
  6. So its 2 clubs relegated from SLE at the end of 2014 and P&R brought back in 2015?. So its just the format for 2015 onwards that we're waiting for?
  7. That seems to have slipped under the radar but now you mention it i think i remember them saying that as well.
  8. Good heavens i wonder what Mike Calvin would make of it all
  9. The more games the better for me. It simply means clubs need to rotate there squads better and use there younger players more, who are currently going out on DR
  10. Thats like holding the whole sport to ransom and that cant happen anymore,we need to move away from this kind of behaviour
  11. Well i'd prefere to see them go straight into SL1 but tbh i'd need to see names and faces and garenttee's of how much money they will invest upto 2020. RL feels like a dying sport "off the field" at the moment, the last thing fans need to see is more underhand dealings going on to favour certain clubs
  12. People on these forums have told us that ther is guarenteed funding for a professional toulouse club. If they come into a SL2 with P&R and with the guarentee of 3 or 400k from the rfl then surely these people will still step forward?
  13. Swapping venues and times does no one any favours, so now Halifax has been chosen as the venue it should be there for a few season,it just needs selling better to RL fans
  14. Very good read. A fully franchised league of 12 owned and run by SKY with no more than 6 clubs from Lancsashire and Yorkshire will ever change that.
  15. I think these are good ideas as long as the dates, kickoff times and stadiums are organised 6 months in advance. Maybe all champ clubs should be asked to try and sell 100 tickets each plus the rfl/clubs could put subsidised coach travel on for those that buy tickets from the club
  16. Sheffield have been an odd team for 3 or 4 season now. I think this is the first time they have taken the NRC seriously. In the past they've started the season very slowly to the point were they have always used the NRC as a way to get fit for the league campaign. This season it looks like they've started the season at full pelt and come unstuck tonight, the last 20 minutes they were shocking. Tubbs has got his worked cut out to recover from that tonight.
  17. Good stuff,i'll be sitting amongst you then with me Leigh top on
  18. I would probably go with a ten club league 2 'at first, and play each other three times if its possible, and i would have two French clubs in. The criteria would be similar to now, youth systems in place, million pound turn over before the extra central funds and a ground thats deemed suitable
  19. Surely the idea of two fully pro leagues is so we can do away with protectionism?
  20. Surely champ 1 would be a much better and stronger league with more clubs in?
