A few years ago before the game it was noticed the French tags were significantly shorter than they shouldn't have been. A lot of shoulder shrugging followed.
France are not the only team who've been found shortening tags....there even been club teams having velcro at the top AND bottom of their tags! It was one of the reasons that for RLWC2021 all tags were provided by the organisers!

I'd definitely have Jake Paul fight Hulk Hogan in a tag team match at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, mid season.
Couldn't you find an older opponent for Jake?

Slightly off topic. Have Crusaders lost the log ins for their socials? They've not posted anywhere in 3 weeks, seems strange if they are pushing sales of season tickets.
It has been very quiet after the End of Season Awards! I guess things may get busier in the run up to Christmas.

North Wales Crusaders started selling season tickets at the last game of the season - at £99 for the basic entry to each League 1 game model. There are the price points available too. I think they had reasonable take up, and are hoping to push sales again in time for Christmas.

Without World Cups to give them 3 guaranteed games every 4 years, we might now be waiting much longer that that to get 10 games played now.
It was a two-year gap between the exit from the pool stages of RLWC 2022 and the next game vs Jamaica in Neath!

I guess they should develop the sport in Wales so they can have some FT players they can call on ........
I didn't understand half of what the points the Welsh Staff? member was trying to make - Talking about Pellisier playing for Toulouse on Sunday and then France on Tuesday -
Didn't Wales have a couple players in (at least) Williams who played for Swinton on Sunday and then Wales on the Tuesday?
I think Swinton played the weekend before the friendly/ warm-up game vs Jamaica in Neath. It was then a week later that Wales played in Carcassonne.... but I get the principle and both governing bodies need to be far clearer on what is acceptable in selection for full internationals...particularly as there was only one European place available for the World Cup.

100 per cent. Those two bossed the game for France. I'd have gone Rougé as well.
He is every inch a Super League player. Most teams in the comp would benefit from signing him.
I wouldn't disagree...but I'll add a shout for Billy Walkley who gave Wales a lot of zip and seemed to be involved in anything productive for Wales

Thanks @welshmagpie...I'll add my few euros worth.....
Just arrived back from my 6 nights in France. I went to the both sets of games in Carcassonne and Perpignan. I stayed in Carcassonne which made for a very long day of travelling to and from Perpignan and I'd try to do that a bit differently if I had to do it again.
I've been to Carcassonne a few times previously so I was used to the city and the people, and it was good to get reacquainted with the pubs and restaurants. Yesterday we met up with old friends from Catalans Dragons and visited what was a new ground for us in St. Esteve...I was a bit surprised at how poor the playing surface was...I've played Masters RL on better pitches in north west England!; it was a poor ground for a World Cup qualifier and I think the French governing body own more respect to the players and the competition.
The people there were great and the French fans were very welcoming.
A few days now needed to get my liver functioning properly again!

They could do with the VR in wheelchair rugby. At least 2 of Leeds tries would’ve been ruled out. Hawkins was unlucky on both occasions. Best player on the pitch by far
One try may have been chalked off on VR, the first would probably have gone up as a try and have been given. The second - the tackle probably was just before the ball was grounded... just!
I definitely think Collins deserve Player of the Match....Hawkins was pretty much played out of the game in the second half.

Was this injury driven or other reasons? And do they miss the games in france also?
I know Owain Abel is still awaiting treatment for his injury. The squad list for France has been released, as follows:
Max Clarke (Barrow Raiders), Elliot Kear (Batley Bulldogs), Samual Grice (Castleford Tigers) Harry, Boots, Matt Ross (Cornwall), Curtis Davies (Dewsbury Rams), Connor Davies (Halifax Panthers), Billy Walkley (Keighley Cougars), Ashton Robinson (Leeds Rhinos), Sam Bowring (Midlands Hurricanes), Ben Evans (North Wales Crusaders), Joe Coope-Franklin, Finley Yates (Salford Red Devils), Josh Ralph (St George Illawara), Ant Walker, Rhys Williams (Swinton Lions), Will Evans, Huw Worthington (Whitehaven), Mike Butt, Matty Fozzard (Widnes Vikings).

Regan himself was in the crowd. Ben Flower and Courtney Davies also present.
I thought I saw Regan as I was heading to the bar at the end but wasn't sure if it was him!

Thanks to @welshmagpie for the excellent report.
I was there too. I set off from Wrexham at 1:30pm and parked my motorhome directly across from the Gnoll in a small car park as I couldn't find anywhere else for a local stop over. I decided to risk staying there rather than having to move after the game and trying to find somewhere else in the dark and wet!
I last went to the Gnoll in 2013 for a South Wales Scorpions vs North Wales Crusaders game....not a lot has changed...maybe the stand had a coat of black paint but agree with John Kear - its a proper rugby stadium with a list of captains many rugby clubs would die for.
The only thing magpie didn't mention was the food truck - they did an excellent special - beef, onions and hot sauce on chips. Lovely!

Was at the game and would say 1,300 was short of the reality. I’m sure the ground announcer said 1,500.
I know a good handful got in early without tickets being checked also.
I was at the game too 1,299 was the announcement at the stadium but I thought it looked a few more than that. Good effort by Neath and the WRL to get the game advertised and attract a decent crowd on a Tuesday evening in awful conditions.
The game itself turned into a knock-on-athon; only to be expected when the ball was like a bar of soap.
Brilliant to see Wales playing again - the last game was 2 years ago in World Cup 2022. Lets hope we get back to regular European games each autumn again.

Congratulations to Hunslet. What a game. Enjoy your celebrations and promotion.

Caught the second half on Sky. Really enjoyed what I saw; a good physical game in greasy conditions...no wonder York used the high ball on the 5th to end their sets. Saints struggled with the bombs that York kept offering them. Well played both teams
-
Congratulations to Hunslet. Played their best rugby at the tail end of the season where it counts most. Definitely the best team today. Keighley let themselves down - didn't play as a team and their discipline was poor.

Aye, most teams a hell of a long way from the M62.
Expansion in action and its not working at that level.
Probably only 3 teams near the M62 in League 1 - Rochdale, Hunslet and Goole...I suppose Keighley is next nearest then Dewsbury ....and Swinton could come down but that would mean Keighley or Hunslet would be promoted. All other teams are a fair distance away.
It must be daunting (and costly) for Cornwall to have to travel to Newcastle, Workington, Goole and Whitehaven for 4 of their away games in 2025!

Aye, and not many White Rose ones either. A groundhopper's delight next season.
...if you like long journeys!! I did start to work out how many miles I travelled to watch North Wales Crusaders this year ...reminder that a home game is a 96 mile round trip for me. I gave up counting in March! We had two away trips to Cornwall this season, so thats near enough 1400 on its own!
