  1. Anglian Vipers Bedford Tigers A Hemel Stags North Herts Crusaders A St Albans Centurions That's the East Premier this year. Cambridge et al are in the Merit League.
  2. Back when the Toronto Wolfpack turned up, I said that it made more sense for London to have a CFL team than Toronto to have a Super League team.
  3. So the new format is what's left over from the old London Premier from 2019 plus Bedford, North Herts, Bristol and Brentwood. Essentially, we've destroyed two generations of community clubs to preserve a Kiwi club, an Aussie club and a club with no ground that has made zero contribution to the wider world of Rugby League. Clubs have been sacrificed to "compete" with these teams. Personally, I'm kind of angry.
  4. The RFL love an announcement so it's likely they've all been asked to keep schtum.
  5. Sorry to go back to something at the start of the thread but the Keighley "Peace Love Unity" kit reminded me of the Afrika Bambaataa song "Unity", which is probably not for the best considering what he has been accused of in recent years.
  6. I am fairly adept at setting up new clubs. I want to help out and hand it over to people who know what they're doing. I have a fairly decent record at this and can provide people with references. However, the one league I spoke to are more interested in finding volunteers for their own reasonably-well staffed club.
  7. The travel was already crazy for an amateur league. However, the issues remain the same. All the best players in the South of England are in London and spread across a three clubs. Every year, nobody is realistically able to compete with them. Teams have been in certain leagues based on their own choice rather than what makes sense. The sport is way below a minimum viable model to sustain itself, let alone be successful. Players are flaky in the summer because summer is the time for holidays and hanging out with friends. However, nobody has the guts to go back to playing in winter. SCL failing isn't the problem but a symptom of a much-larger problem.
  8. Will it? They haven't been able to regularly raise a team since they came back to the amateur ranks.
  9. Given time, I think that Rice should be Dier Plus; big enough to mix it but with enough skill with the ball at his feet to not get flustered.
  10. Josh King was at Blackburn so he was basically a domestic player before he even got there.
  11. Genuinely nothing compared to the wackiness between Segunda B and Tercera in Spain where qualifiers from 18 groups play-off to get into four groups in Segunda B. Despite that, I think it's probably a better season.
  12. Glad to see Chris Ramsey given a crack at the QPR job. Good coach and a good manager, as he proved by winning the A-League (the name for the US second tier at the time) in 2003 with Charleston Battery. Problem is, like Nigel Adkins, if it didn't happen in the "public eye", it didn't happen and he had to come back here to do what he did before; youth coaching.
  13. This has been knocking around for years, the game itself was conceptualised 50+ years ago and has been played for 20. In the past, it was more commonly known as Luther Blissett Three-Sided Football, due to its links with Italian anarchists who use the former Watford striker's name as some sort of nom de plume. It's nice to see that somebody is regularly organising games.
