The lads know they have to tighten up their game to take on 'Haven up there. Since beating Barrow we've not been on great form but we can't go on winning ugly. Of the 3 Cumbrian teams Whitehaven have the game to turn an ugly win into a disappointing defeat.

Agree with BillH....

Cheers Bob.

As of last night (Monday) I have been able to see highlights of EVERY weekend game EXCEPT ours,....why? Not being kept under lock and key for any disciplinary reasons?
-
Best period was 50 to 70 minutes Redditch 4 tries in there, then reverted. Agree with others, the sporadic essence doesn't do our game any good. We're a team which thrives on doing a good job, talking it over, brushing up and doing the same in a clockwork fashion and gaps don't always do us good.

BTW what happened to Pez, never saw him go off?

Hope you pick up Rog!

Agree with the comment about such as Gledhill and surprisingly today Walshaw. There needs to be a bit more space to get them moving sometimes 2 out so there is momentum when they come on at speed. We were decidedly second best for a good 55 minutes and were looking confused and incapable for most of that time. Fortunately we remembered in time that we had played together before and did what we can, 3 tries in +- 8 minutes just swung it and nice to see Reilly with a turn of pace just to show the above guys how to crash on. 2 Cumbrian teams up next, more steel will be needed fir those.

Hodson had a fine fine game all round
Manning ran hard from the start and as somebody else said, hit a couple of big lads early and put 'em off, Albert especially never came strong after
Brown, his returning spell was immense which just squeezed him ahead of either Wardy or Cropper.

They'll owe it to themselves, 36-14

Hope Leaky's fit by Sunday, we need the fizz and hoping that nobody else got knocks last night. We've got the ability to jump straight back.

Manning, never gave up and I did hear he hadn't been well all day yet turned out.
Reilly had 2 fair spells
Brown

Eh?

They owe the club across the board on Sunday. Discipline doesn't improve, ball management was awful tonight, ripped open out wide 6 times with no defence interested in getting across. We need to do ALL the basics right on Sunday, throw Batley tackling and Bulldog spirit into the mix and some gumption with the ball.

Left hand defence is non-existent, nobody sliding across and standing off their no6. Regardless of who the opposition is you have to do the basics.

Just seen that our past player Terry Gorman passed away yesterday. I may be wrong, someone might correct me, but I think he made his debut for us at Lawkholme Lane. Sad time for the club and the family. Hope we hold a silence on Monday evening.

Love the way Kev can take the micky so proudly!! I too hope we can put on a display and if anybody can put a plan together Craig's the man. We'll front up to be sure but I think they'll wear us down over time and probably win by about 20. Whatever DOES happen we'll know that blood has been spilt for the cause. Looking at other fixtures, even a loss will only see up down 1 place anyway, then London and the 2 Cumbrian games should see us at least maintain that.

Season-long is ridiculous, as soon as he's match-fit he's in my 17 regardless of who has to drop out.

BB, does the old system of clubs giving permits to players to play amateur no longer exist? Ineson is still seen at our games in his monogrammed Batley kit and still trains and assists pre-match. It may well be that it's us who have allowed him to play for Bradford reserves as amateurs used to make up our A team back in the day.

Now we know eh!!

Shame the (very) brief highlights don't include that last bit, we'd be sure then.

No response to correct me from the club KTF...

Carr wasn't actually ours, he was on loan to us. Obviously Giants weren't happy at his opportunity so withdrew him, that's how I see it anyway. Think he's gone gone. When and if we recall players due to crises, they are then well bedded into a different club's style of play anyway.
-
Now Collinson gone, is this short term or season long? Squad is being cut down inch by inch and again we have to find out from other sources and I have to reiterate, other than Browny going out for a couple of matches a season or 3 back, we have a shocking record of bringing players back. Then, when we run into an injury crisis and MIGHT call players back they're then out of our loop in fitness and tactics.
Haven next up

A full 80 from Leaky then, why haven't we recalled Burton? Agree that this is a banana skin, Haven are no mugs at home, we'll have to be better than Worky, Rams n London.
