  1. Yeah, So onceiys gets competitive some clubs turn away players, many of whom parents played at the club and would be future first team players, instead these clubs chase 'better players' the teams then loose players or once lads get scholarships stop playing and the teams fold. I saw a post about blackbrook that 4 junior teams are in finals, if that's the case why doesn't this transfer to their poor first team and why have their other age groups struggled to fulfill fixtures? It is of course different from age group to age group as its a parent who has little accountability in charge. Another club I am aware of cut players and effectively kicked kids out of a club, this was based on how good 11 year olds are at playing the game. Absolute madness!!
  2. Maybe start a thread with: The 17 who think next year will be their year. Or maybe 17 players who moved clubs to challenge for trophys
  3. Several Widnes lads have won the league playing for St helens... Why would Widnes lads play for Widnes?
  4. Its actually RFU rules that every kid gets half a game minimum. Playing with matching numbers and lending players to the opposition is all encouraged and actually happens.
  5. Teams like this tend to fold and are fortunately few and far between. Usually good community coaches develop kids further to their potentials and this may lead to a switch in clubs when some talented kids are being left behind. Also when kids go to high school and mix with other kids, typically from further afield this can also cause kids to move clubs. Ultimately teams can only transfer 3 players in a season. Sky and BBC (the broadcasters) can actually help though by stop banging on about 'good community clubs' that develop players.
  6. Community super clubs haha what are you drinking
  7. Smithies deffo Him and Bentley cut from the same cloth, with Knowles being obsessed so won't argue and thats the back row sorted. Have to go all Catalan front row. Napa, cassiano and micky mac. Luke gale and would have been maloney but will go tomkins in the halves. Centres: hardaker and Isa Conner FB Wingers: none ?! Bench King of the late hits Matatiua Chief wind up merchant LMS Myler Kenny edwards
  8. Phil Clarke tipping Salford to win the grand final when koukash took over. He was convinced for weeks s slow start would still lead to old trafford glory
  9. Its chicken and egg, saints, Leeds and Wigan have a history of giving youth a go and even if you don't make the grade at these clubs the liklihood is you will play at another SL club or at worst a championship club. What did Salford or Leigh offer? Or Warrington for the matter, never gave youth a go and imported journeymen. Ad a kid or parent given the choice which one would you pick??
  10. Its not central funding, its a share of the TV deal for the league they play in and is televised. The championship have their own TV deal.
  11. Not sure if the examiner got a different press release but a C grade was not part of IMG presentation
  12. I don't go to headingly as the facilities for away supports is shocking, I would go to watch my team regardless. The quality of product is subjective as to what you want to see. For many its just their team to win or at least try to win. Your argument falls down when you look at non league and lower division attendances for UK soccer.
  13. Thats a solid point as they said a big drive was within the womens game. Maybe running a female team will be a criteria.
  14. Oh no it isn't haha The shortlist was by points of a panel each week. Get for facts straight before sounding off
  15. If your not an A you are a B by default. No C in the new system
  16. At the time saints were playing at Knowsley Road so no... don't see why renting is an issue as long as a secure lease is in place.
  17. In 2009 the only A licenses were: Hull Leeds Warrington In 2012 Hull Leeds Warrington Wigan B licenses were; Bradford Saints Catalan Huddersfield Hull KR So with no real change at the top 4 who could make the jump to A. Saints are now in their new stadium which I think was the only thing keeping them down a grade Catalan maybe improved on and off field? Hull KR improved off field massively, stadium improved, academy? Huddersfield stayed the same Bradford gone backwards So A grades could be? Saints Catalan Hull KR Hull Leeds Warrington Wigan To start a healthy debate does anyone think differently and why?
  18. On the positive side to mr negative, a very close first leg would see a bumper crowd in the second leg, not least if it were the underdog infront. So for example the saints wigan game last year, the second leg would have deffo sold out!
  19. Winners are winners, make fun all you want but winners are winners (and it wasn't Leeds). The panel of the man of Steel are hardly staticians and experts now are they.
  20. Didn't the cricket parking used to be on the rugby pitch
  21. That isn't the ground though, its like saying there's a big dog terd but its in a lovely park with Rose Gardens, child's play area mature maze, why don't you like dog terd??
  22. Yes it is, I am sure you have access to Google
  23. True but then again the middle 8s created mayhem in scheduling. To be fair the wedding wasn't football or another sport telling them to move a fixture and didn't the game go ahead with just the stand closed?
