  1. Whats interesting is that there are still 20000 bradford fans who stay away for whatever reason.....if successful again they will return..... If batley, widnes, keighly, fev, fax, sheffield, doncaster, cas.... had issued such a rallying call would they have got anywhere close to 20k?
  2. Small businesses merge or are swallowed up by bigger companies...... Why would Tesco merge with sainsburys?
  3. Why would you 'call a debt in' in you knew that they couldn't pay? If you were a lender you would set up a payment plan to recover as much as you can! In reality these loans are 'gifts' dressed up as loans for tax purposes, it also allows for bargaining tools to get their own way....aka OK at bradford.... Whats interesting is that these 'loans' are common place in soccer but no one bats an eyelid!
  4. I cant afford to pay it back at the moment....should I take myself to a small claims court?
  5. or cas or saints who weren't in their stadium...Salford also...
  6. 2003/4 is within living memory, the majority of those souls will still be walking the earth! Also it is in the professional era watching professional outfits at the top of their game, Additionaly they got 20000 again for that fixture in 2012 on a Thursday night!
  7. so why quote the debt when it has nothing to do with it! I agree that the financial collapse of a couple of clubs isn'tgood but to ssuggest that the answer is to take money off other clubs is wrong! Just one question if I lend myself a tenner am I in debt?
  8. union sell the tickets that cheap and do that much marketing they have to sell the bottom two tiers to break even! its like junk mail, they only need 5% to respond to make it worthwhile!
  9. whose 68mil in debt? Who to? Is it secured debt? Bolton wanderers are 130 odd million in debt.... operational loss of 50 mill in 1 season so again which clubs are in debt, is it manageble (who to) I should imagine there are 1 or 2 clubs who are massively in debt and the vast majority very little if at all! Are most the debts directors loans therefore the debt is imaginary. ....
  10. fyi crusaders were dropped in a smoke filled room... (from those electronic thingies)....you are very presumptuous that Wakefield would have been sacrificed!
  11. they were right to drop crusaders, but they should of reduced to 13 until another franchise was ready to step up, same with Salford. .... Alternatively they should have funded cru etc.... The downfall started when a feeder club was allowed to play with the big boys!
  12. In the 21st century (a few people on here are still in the 20th/19th....) you cannot smoke inside public places...... Unless you are thinking 19th century and people still have coal fires.....
  13. Well apparently leigh fans will buy sky boxes if P&R returns........
  14. The irony there is that they wouldn't have got relegated so the lucky was also unlucky? With P & R any club can overspend and make it to the top.....its when they are on the way back down the damage is caused...... If you look at the latest financial report for Bolton Wanderers it becomes clear the true effects of P & R (and they had a parachute payment)! P & R is fine if the clubs are on a level playing field but you need to split into divisions of current ability....This model does not work in the 21st century! The tier system in RL was to address this and works to a degree....At the lower end it is deemed sensible and is championed......... tier 4 has P & R but once you hit the top division you need to apply and meet criteria to join tier 3, Tier 3 has P & R and again you hit a plateau where you then need to apply and meet criteria to advance to tier 2, once this championed logic is applied to Tier 2-1 it causes outrage! Part of the issue is when tier 1 was expanded to 14 and 2 clubs failed they should have immediately shrunk back to 12.....
  15. Sorry you will have to spell this one out. .... You don't want to watch SL as leigh don't play in it but if next season the structure changes you will be happy to watch SL with leigh not in it? Also which aussies will come over for 25k?? Which relegated clubs players will be happy to drop to 25k earnings? You also aren't factoring in coaches and other staff? Who will operate the training facilities cook the food....all the other jobs associated with Full time training! You open a facility FT you need the staff!
  16. So you dont want to watch clubs other than leigh.....but if SL moves away from licensing you will be quite happy to watch eeerrrmmm the exact same club's ( not leigh) Very odd......
  17. 700k won't fund a full time team a ten year old could work that out! Also to be successful you need a full time setup try closer to 6million!
  18. You quoted widnes, it was not You quote cas was unfairly relegated which again was agreed what would happen It looks like you can't be arsed checking the facts and you are quite clearly making things up!
  19. There is no need for radical change, a few tweaks to licencing would be best. ...look how the play offs have devalued due to constant change!,Also if you remove the funding from catalan that will fund one more team, (Bradford) so that is the same as now? So where's the funding for a second tier ay?
  20. No it wasn't widnes it was cas who bounced back, widnes were relegated under your much treasured system, if widnes suffered it was because of P&R!All clubs agreed to relegate 2 and promote 2 before the season began! Widnes finished within these 2 places, there was no juggling! And they hardly won promotion on the pitch either! Ok catalans never came from the championship but they Could have, its not really relevant to widnes being relegated and becoming a feeder club! Now please stop spouting off nonsense!
  21. I agree, but crowds aren't the be all etc... signing the stand off wouldn't have helped, challenging the acedemy for players either.........
  22. Hull were better in the immediate years before HKR were in SL, weather the decline was due to HKRs rise is another question!
  23. If thatis the case and the bbottom wasn't competitive (which i was) why did tthey add2 teams? The situation was it was competitive with 10 heartland clubs (plus London and catalan) London was going well with mac in charge and youth making the england squad, so they tried adding two clubs, a heartland club and an expansion club the two added clubs both failed, one was rescued and one was replaced with a feeder club, at this point the league should have reverted back.....instead they carried on, unfortunately hitting a recession, operating at 14 clubs when the optimum is 12, If the SL reverted back to 12 with only 10 heartland clubs it will once again be competitive , (presuming London wil be ok). OOncee the country has recovered it may in time be ok to expand once again....
  24. Or team's could get parachute payments for 3 years tailing off each year.....This way clubs could keep most the squad together and adjust as needed year to yea!
