  1. I was refering to keeping full time players full time when they drop a division... They may lack the skill to be SL quality..... But if they stay full time they will reach there potential, dropping training to semi-pro and spending 40hrs a week dedicated to anther proffesion will obviously see your performance drop and each full time player wont be hitting their full potential..... therefore by keeping full-time when dropping down would raise the playing standards of the second tier...... as I mentioned the only issue is as ever money.... Whats also interesting is that people point to how players 'move up' from the championship tier to SL..... well from memory (please correct if wrong) they are players who have played for academy's or youth systems at 'lower' clubs and are therefore full time players... they are reaching their potential in a professional surrounding and have the quality for SL... For the championship tier to be the best it can be then obviously for those players to reach their full potential they need to be training full time.... The area you can get caught up in is thinking that these players full potential is good enough for SL.....
  2. What it would do is raise the standard of the second division....... how its funded is another matter....
  3. Who said anything about a building site? whats wrong with working as a teacher or accountant etc....
  4. profits isnt an issue, clubs dont set out to make millions..... to be fair when people have jobs and feel secure and have actual pay rises they will start to support again! When businesses feel secure they will try to expand again and largen their sponsorship budgets....ITV has claimed they are struggling for revenue because of this!! RL isn't imune to the economy and the service/ entertainment industry has took a pounding as the high street as theres a lack of disposable income. ....I read on average familys are around 2k a year worse off.....
  5. I think you would prefer point 2....to be fair its the only logical way to bridge the gap and keep the status quo.... There are other ways but at present there is too much resentment for it to happen,
  6. The same could be said for soccer or union but they manage just fine! Once the country is out of this depression top level RL will be fine! There is of course the pyramid system for each area. .....but let's not go there......
  7. Its interesting that the latest suggestions around Bolton Wanderers is that if you are in debt to your owner then its not a real debt......... They say there debt is just what they owe the bank.... i.e.. what realistically can be recalled...... Therefore how much of the 68 mill is actually proper debt? Another point is if the playoffs proper only consist of 2 games how will they raise the winners money.....I was under the presumtion that this is where that pot came from?
  8. As the link said as a climax...... There are other sources too if you look for them.............. http://www.loverugbyleague.com/blogpost_616-bring-in-toulouse-and-relegate-three-from-super-league.html
  9. Will Magic weekend be moved to august time? If so how will that impact on CC final? Also if thats the last round of the regular season would it be fair to play a club for a third time to play them again a fourth, fith and possibly sixth time in one season???? Also if magic is the end of regular season before the split seeing as the games are after each other it would therefore mean clubs will know what they have to do before playing....or what was an important game could be ruined by previous results??
  10. so therefore you want to give free tickets to the first round? (That SL clubs are in) this was tried and tested and failed, you are just solving a problem with an old solution that failed!
  11. I am OBVIOUSLY on about the first round of licencing when anyone could apply! Toulouse also applied!
  12. thats a very one eyed view of events! Maybe they were just the second best team.... Fev, fax, gateshead, barrow and widnes all applied for a licence. ....who gave up? Also I am told clubs wouldnt 'give up' to prevent promotion underP&R so which is it?????
  13. you did do you suggested ten pound for the ticket, when I pointed out the error of your suggestion you tell me to move on!!! From this I take it you know see the error of your point, you are just not man enough to admit it!!!!
  14. crusaders would have auto gone up with 2up....its widnes who wouldnt be there now!!!
  15. yes but it was free....if you've paid you will be more inclined to go!if you are locked out from a free ticket its unfortunate, if you are locked out from a ticket you have paid for its amateurish and quite possibly criminal!
  16. so your saying that saints 10000 ST holders could all attend a cup game at widnes.... where do the widnes ST holders sit? What if the away game is catalan. . In effect you have been forced to buy a useless ticket.... does a club have to surrender the whole 10 quid or just for the attending fans? Will the club charge a fee for admin costs?
  17. after reading this I am starting to like the sound of this new format.....
  18. Exactly, and you could pick and choose one off additional games I.e. Easter etc....
  19. it will be a percentage of gate money or a set figure..... but the suggestion is to sell a ticket for 3 games and then open it for free for a 4th if necessary. ...but nothing is free WHO WILL PAY??????
  20. I agree here If the games were packaged I would only buy the super8s package, it will also definitely hit the cup...
  21. so would I be buying 3 or 4 games? Would I get a refund for just 3?also it doesn't solve the problem that the REAL playoffs will be a hard sell as per usual!
  22. it is though, who will pay the stadium costs for that extra game? Didnt the RFL pick up the tab for the free CCup games?
