Us by plenty if we play like second half at dews.we were on fire and could have had over 50 with a little more thought near the line. 44-20 to the doggies.

Don’t want to take anything away from Batley but I don’t think Newcastle will be as bad as we were.

Can we get the away game against Fev cancelled as well? It will save us another beating.

To be honest I think they will be a few games postponed over the next few weeks,in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if the season got cancelled again due to high numbers of Covid.

  4. Don’t know what sort of team we’ll have for Thursday night, but to be honest I can’t see anything other than a defeat, hope I’m wrong of course. Seen Batley a couple of times this season and they play some nice rugby. Too good halfbacks playing behind a good pack.

    Rams 14 Batley 22

I watched the same highlights Nick and the pass looked OK to me. It just goes to show how difficult it is to judge these things instantly.

The penalty was galling but Farrell provoked Finn into retaliating and, sadly, retaliation is regarded as more worthy of punishment. It is water under the bridge now but I still don't understand that particular decision.

Farrell as put on Facebook,Instagram and you can clearly see him going towards Finn with clenched fists, but Finn is old and wise enough not to fall for them tactics, right 🤷‍♂️
Farrell even applauded as he left the field, job done.

It will be interesting to see the video - maybe it was a case of Stevo's "momentum rule"?

I was in line and it was forward for me. But that said we shouldn’t have been in that position.

I felt the same way and LG said much the same on Radio Leeds. Also on the radio, Davey Dixon said that the lads had discussed Sheffield’s sinister tactics and warned each other not to get drawn in. Pity Finny wasn’t involved the discussions.

I want to watch the highlights to see if Thackeray’s pass for their final try was forward and check if WR is correct in saying that the Eagles were offside at Knowles’ rushed DG attempt. I shouted for a DG attempt in the first half and also in the second period when the HT score hadn’t changed.

The pass from Thackeray to Brown looked forward.

Does anyone know why Smith didn't play? Why play him against Toulouse and Fev then drop him against Oldham? It's lads like him we should be blooding against the likes of Oldham otherwise we will never compete.

I suppose the only person who can answer that is the coach.

I was disappointed with the whole display to be frank. The team selection was odd to say the least - I can understand the logic in resting players for games that we don't expect to win but we also want the fans to turn up to watch and, with bizarre selections like today, some will be put off. If someone could explain why Sykes was on the bench then I would be grateful. If he was being rested then fair enough, rest him, but don't select him as a substitute and not play him; that is simply a waste of one of the 17 spots which could have been better utilised I'm sure. Essentially we played with a 16 man squad.

I felt that we did well for the first 35 minutes, even if Fev were pretty slack up until then. Two silly mistakes ended up costing us 8 points and the game was gone by half time. Webster obviously gave his charges a blast in the interval and they came out firing, whereas we came out like puddings. They strolled through time after time. A couple of quite controversial refereeing decisions didn't help but they didn't affect the eventual outcome even if they might have influenced the margin. However, how a team responds to adversity is a true measure, and our response as a whole wasn't great (with a couple of honourable exceptions). Conceding 48 points in a 40 minute period says it all, really.

We are targeting certain games with the hope of getting sufficient points from them to avoid a crisis, understandably, but such a strategy can come back and bite you if it falls flat. Let us hope that isn't the case.

Think Sykes was supposed to be 18th man but 3 players dropped out on Saturday.

Couldn’t get to the game and no team details anywhere. Anybody care to oblige and post them on here?. Reading comments posted so far, the team got stuck into opponents again but not quite good enough. Pity, - I’m aching for a win.

We are all aching for a win. A really good effort against a very good team. Lee can take a lot of positives out of the game,Alex Smith had a great game and scored a good try but unfortunately  had to be helped from the field, hopefully same injury that as kept him out for so long. Bailey Lui looked good today, along with Carr and Oakes .

If its sunny they'll put 50 on you 😞

Don’t want to sound negative but the way we are playing and certain players unavailable for various reasons I’ll settle for them only putting 50 on us ☹️

We have probably done OK out of Covid-19. Central funding, sponsorship, season tickets, merchandise without having to expense player salaries, ground hire etc.

Got it in one,now would you care to come on our forum or Facebook page and explain that to some of our fans please.

Only seen Reilly play this season but he looks very promising based on those games. Got a lovely little swerve/step to find space and then has great leg drive in the contact. Prop looked to be our weakest element this season and looks like Disco is really looking to rectify this and I believe we've still got a few more new forwards to come in as well as hopefully Joy and Spencer resigning.

Martyn was just getting his fitness back after a serious knee injury when the season came to a end, you’ve got a good one there along with Nelmes, anyway Nelmes doesn’t need any introduction to your supporters having played for you before, hopefully he’s got his off field problems sorted. Don’t know much about Tommy Brierley didn’t play many games for us,in fact he probably played more for Hull KR reserves than he did for us.

Heard a rumour that you are trying to sign Liam Kirk from Bradford. That would give you a beefy pack.

Spending serious money I hope they've got the funds😉
