  1. If they bring back ‘on the road’ games then they need a strategy for it. Each SL club could be given a city or area to develop the game both at community level and also to widen their fan bases. It might be more beneficial if the these areas aren’t too far away. For example, St Helens and Warrington - Liverpool,  Wigan and Salford -  Manchester, Leigh - Bolton/Preston, Castleford - Sheffield/Barnsley, London stay in London, Hull KR - Newcastle, Hull - Middlesbrough - Teeside. Not sure about Hudds and Leeds, maybe Birmingham and Nottingham

Not one of those players would be top 20/25 in their position. A worrying list from my perspective.

Completely agree. Matt Frawley, for example, is just stopping Jack Sinfield playing more first team games

This is a list of NRL players coming over to the Super League this year (I am sure there are more, but this is the list I could find).  The average age is 27 with only two over 30 years of age.  This excludes the British players from the NRL coming back this year who are all under 30.

    Matt Frawley (Leeds Rhinos)

    Jayden Okunbor (Hull FC)

    Franklin Pele (Hull FC)

    Jayden Nikorima (Catalans Dragons)

    Tariq Sims (Catalans Dragons)

    Fa'amanu Brown (Hull FC)

    Lachlan Fitzgibbon (Warrington Wolves)

    Lachlan Miller (Leeds Rhinos)

    Bayley Sironen (Catalans Dragons)

    Peta Hiku (Hull KR)

    Sylvester Namo (Castleford Tigers)

    Jack Murchie (Huddersfield Giants)

    Zane Musgrove (Warrington Wolves)

    Thomas Deakin (Sydney Roosters)

    Paul Momirovski (Leeds Rhinos)

    Herman Ese'ese (Hull FC)

None of those players are big names in the NRL though. Any big name players will only come at the end of their careers

  4. He’s a big name signing but if shows where SL is at the moment that big name players from the NRL only come over at the end of their careers.
I get much more satisfaction seeing young players come through into SL from academies rather than fringe NRL players or end of career NRL players

Great news for the Broncos. Hopefully they can put on a good show and encourage the fans to come back regularly

Really great piece on the new SL season on BBC Breakfast TV this morning, with big focus on Sam Burgess. Could this be Warrington's year?

Worth looking at it on iPlayer.

Just watched it. Really good promotion of the new season and presenters were very positive about the game of RL

  8. It’s February and the end of season international hasn’t even been confirmed yet. So much for making internationals a big event and selling tickets early.

We all know what’s going to happen. Samoa series confirmed mid way through the season so all good sized venues are unavailable and a rush to sell tickets in Yorkshire and the NW

Probably not my place to weigh in on threads such as this, since I'm not really an active poster on this particular RL forum and I'm not on social media per se (Facebook, Twitter et al) but...

Doesn't everyone just need to get out a bit more?   The internet is not the real world, it's a place where one's behaviour is influenced by the fact they are behind a computer and have the chance to create a false environment where their specific needs, beliefs and values can be given precedence.   Thus when challenged with differing perceptions or a differing set or values, an individual gets upset, in a similar way to being upset at someone invading your safe space in your home to shout their opinions at you.

When I go for a nice walk along the canal every day in my little Cheshire village, I pass all sorts of people from all different backgrounds, probably with views from one extreme to the other.   Out there it's the real world, and should two people engage in a short chat about anything they don't usually start shouting at each other over differing opinions and get into some sort of rage.   If anything, they just ignore the bits they don't agree with and move on.   But ultimately, everyone still pretty much gets on don't they?

As I say, I'm not on Twitter or Facebook, but why on earth people choose to pick arguments (usually political) with people they've never met is beyond me.   There's a whole world out there away from the computer / phone - get some fresh air, lose some weight and get used to tolerating each other again.    It must be exhausting getting so anxious / angry all the time?

Debate is good and fun, but don't waste precious time on petty bickering.

    This 100%.

As i predicted once Carcassonne showed interest Limoux followed Lezignan will be next followed by i predict Albi this whole thing needs sorting out as all these clubs leaving will be the death of the French Elite 1.

Only way forward is for a serious Anglo French cup with groups which will stop this madness, problem is it will take someone with vision to put it all together and this wont happen from the RFL who are potless and rudderless.

I cannot see anyone independently putting this together as the last time a serious proposal was put forward to the RFL (Girona Nines) all they did was take the idea themselves and put it out for commercial tender which received not one bid (Surprise Surprise) and then swept the whole thing under the carpet.

Do you think they will all apply as separate entities or as a joint venture?

Would if make sense for Elite to switch to summer and become a French conference alongside League 1?
