As you say E a stroll in the park. We did come down to their level part way through the first half with that poor try conceded and a few unforced errors. bit all told a satisfactory performance.
My main moans are. which incidentally is nowt to do with the actual match.
1. sort out the tannoy so we can hear the announcements. 2. sort out the hooter. and 3. get some time on the clock ?
For a team with SL aspirations it is not really good enough.

Blimey POR they certainly have. No guessing number 20 & 21 now

Good display for the first hour plus and then we let some soft tries in. Im sure Long will have a few words . For me I would rest Briscoe for a few games as he did not have the best defensive display today. No way was Yei,s a sin binning just a few words for a hard fair tackle. Kendall was worse than our level refs.

1. Dean

I have just read McD comments on Total RL . Saying that at the Broncos he made loads of mistakes. What a hypocrite how many mistakes did he make at POR ?

Spot on Mark. Fev supporters dont need to rise to the bait.

He would not be the editor of League Express if he was not passionate about our game.

Cheers F , I would have guessed in his 70s

What a great player who was part of the best front row in the world. Takes me back 6o years to read about this superb bloke. I was in my early twenties when he started , I wonder how old Jimmy is now. These were good days, long gone but hopefully not forgotten . I wonder if JC remembers him.

It would be nice to find out how much income we have lost, but I suspect that is "pie in the sky."

Could be a good guess PH

Has Dean been recalled by Warrington ?seems strange as season not yet started.

Cannot see the clubs thinking, as F says 4 homes on the trot. Not going to be easy for those on a tight budget.

Featherstone have always been known as the flat cappers , well before the London softies took them on board.

What a superb piece of writing P. I have always thought that the RFL was fairly close to being a secret society in respect of many of their activities.

Yes M although I did not know him personally. He steadied the ship through rough times and ,of course enjoyed our successes. As you say well respected and will be missed. RIP Bob

Yes it was a good hit out, with the usual "handbags". I thought the halves played OK . But for me the 2 who I was impressed with were Day and Hankinson (of the new blood.) and the usual effort you get from Briscoe

I think you could be right PH some rather odd selections for the first 13 . But hey it is a squad not a team.

I notice that IMG are pushing for a super dooper SL club at London. Methinks that is completely pie in the sky. Just because 20000 plus watched the recent international involving England does not mean that thousands on Londoners are going to flock and watch the Broncos. even if they become competitive.
This is a northern sport and , to me, always will be.
The Toronto experience was a disaster and Ottawa never took off. We will never rival RU or football , so just IMG look at what we have in the north and increase sponsorship and revenue with our well established and some old and revered clubs.

Leigh Leopards owner Derek Beaumont wants end to Super League promotion and relegation in its current format

Typical Beaumont. He wants a cushion in case his team hits the buffers and finishes last. Only interested in Leigh, sod the championship teams striving for the top spot or the game as a whole.
