I don't understand the bitterness that these threads decend into.
Widnes are a hotbed of RL and are doing great work in maintaining this and therefore should be commended.
Fans posting that this should mean a licence is as daft a lobby suggesting Leigh get one for the shape of the stadium.
Widnes are building and have some great points towards a bid, the on field performance this season isn't what they would want but then others have weaknesses as well.
Why can't we just celebrate and leae it at that. We are too quick to run our sport down.

If these 2 signings allow us to utilise the rest of the money to promote the british youngsters then it's fine by me.
Sidlow, Ratchford, Adamson, Jewitt have all signed new contracts. Holdsworth has signed his contract and though an Aussie he is a young one.
As with many things it is about balance and next year should be about devlopment, this year was about spending as little as possible and evidenced by results.
We need a replacement for Alker as he isn't going to be playing next year.
-
Leeds win, Salford won't win 2 on the trot
-
Rumour has it he has signed a deal at Salford for next year. Why is is no longer required at huddersfield?
-
Karl has had the England job.
He is great defensively, we certainly noticed the difference after his arrival, but I think he has too much of the Bradford way about him, the was little in free attacking play. He will always be special for me as a Salford fan more for the way he organised the club from bottom up. The acedemy was in a better way after he left than before. The only drawback was the lack of a plan B, but he would be great working along side a flair coach.
Anyway this is about the great success for Batley against the odds and money.
Wsell done to the fans and all at the club.
-
Why can't they stay at Knowsley Roaad another year, it's what most do.
-
Well done the Gallant Youths Karl Harrison really has made a difference there. What can Salford have been thinking about?
Well done Batley and karl.
He is a great defensive coach but unfortuntely he lacked the final something to adapt his game plan.
-
This is a local issue for the fans of Wakey and Cas, other fans should butt out of any merger talks
Everytime I see a thread like this I wonder how long until Salford get dragged into it. Again I wasn't disappointed.
-
Harrison certainly knows how to toughen up a team. He has won the trophy before and wish him and Batley all the best. I bet the discipline has improved greatly since he and his sword arrived.

30-0
oh god, still 40 mins to go
-
Ryan Boyle off for Salford.
Most unusual as Salford players don't make tackles
-
Salford have offered Ryan a contract, says it all really
-
Point a minute so far
6-0 to Pies

Thanks for the advice.
I am trying to get to grips with CS5 at the moment I don't know if anything in there can help.
My great uncle was a chindit and I am trying to find out about him. The picture post carried his photo but I can't find the image in Getty

I have tried with and without flash, I am using a canon 450.
The problem is the memorial is highly polished and you can stand to the side and still see yourself reflected, it is like trying to take a picture of a mirror.
-
OK peeps, I want to take a photo of a memorial made in brass located in a church but seem to get reflections or poor detail, is it better to take thephoto and the photoshop it or is there an easy way to take a good pic?
-
You also have have to take into consideration the past records of the players and Coley has had a few run ins, often for silly tackles or petulant offences. Certainly did when at Salford B) When was he ;ast up before the committee?
-
Tense affair at the end and for the last 20 minutes, but on the whole a poor game by all concerned. Salford were poor, Quins were poor and the ref and his TJs weren't great either.
Glad this game wasn't inflicted on the viewing public.
Not sure how many players quins had left by the end of the game. Randall was injured early on dislocated shoulder possible, at least 2 others went off not to return.
Oliver Wilkes has been moonlighting in that visa worldcup advert!
-
alford fail to raise their game for playing those around us and I don't expect this to be any different.
Poor game poor crowd me watching the countdown clock wishing it was all over, quins win by 2.
-
Think Salford might just manage a 5 a side team on just those born in Salford, but you would have to apply the same criteria to all the other teams, how many claimed by Wigan are born in the town rather than Leigh, Same for Leeds as many are from other RL playing areas.
Mot teams are looking to develop genuine academy players rather than the imports and this should be encouraged. Maybe every 5th full (3 yrs)academy player deosn't count in the cap (at whatever level)
This petty point scoring is getting out of hand. How many other sports focus on the neg?

We appear to have a pair of Blackbirds just sitting on eggs at the moment. They have picked the big Willow tree in the garden. I assume this is the 2nd brood
-
Our nesting Blue #### are house hunting again and look like they will take up residence. We have added another nest box this year and hope to attract a robin.
-
People get arrested for that type of photography!
Not an ex camera man on TOTPs are you?
-
Long tailed #### are the party animals of the bird world. Always seem to arrive as a group.
the only birds we actively discourage are the pigeons. My husband hate them.

Mergers are rarely that, they are a takeove by a stronger club.
RL in England have seem the mergers of Gateshead and Sheffield into new merged clubs. the stronger partner have benefited but the weaker haven't.
Had Oldham and Salford merged there are no guarantees that either club would have survived, much would have depended who ran the company.
