I'd rather take a Shaun Wane plus x2 of the three as assistants.
I think it’ll be an NRL coach plus one of their own assistants.

He's gone to Bradford.
I don’t really know how Pele has ended up in this state. Not slating York or Bradford but with his size, speed and power, he really should be doing better.

Well done to hull fc.
incidentally hull fc and KR for that matter could try and develop young talent much closer to home in the north&north east Lincolnshire areas.
I think this has been done, on and off, for a long time.
Scunthorpe have had amateur teams for at least 35 years but don’t know about any others.Hull have been doing development in Cumbria iirc.

Would have been nice but I'm driving up to Jockland in the early hours of Sunday morning and the bloody Whalebone owner hasn't reopened after being shut for work on the upstairs part of the pub. Must be at least a year now.
Oh well, Lambton Club it is then.
The ride will more a little more enjoyable now mate
Take it easy.

Never in doubt
Should be a great night with the Whalebone massive.

My local in York had ABK on keg for sometime , the whole range was rotated by the landlord , Dunkel being my favourite. Once they started brewing the stuff over here the landlord dumped them , currently we have Bavo Pils , Bitburger , Paulaner and Kostritzer Schwarzbier.
They could do with some at the Black Horse in Wigginton! Barring Guinness, the beer ain’t good.

It so happened that I spent the last GF at Spouse's friends house. The husband is from Essex and conventionally Rah Rah. Tbf he was impressed with the match but after 15 mins he was on his phone. Thing is, so was I.
How ever well coached and skillful, laying on effectively does reduce the spectacle.
Yesterday I was forgetting the match whilst I was watching it. I was happy when it finished so I could pull some more weeds out of the frog pond.
This is not about the result. It's not an attack on Wigan. Would I have posted if my preferred winner Warrington had won? Maybe, maybe not.
My point is that below a certain ruck speed there is little 'jeopardy'. Little potential for excitement. The game is too controlled.
At the start of this season much was made of how entertaining the games were (when there were enough players left on the pitch that is) but my attention does drift when the game becomes stultified by an over controlled ptb.
I other words I am more entertained by a fluid match than with commendable, well coached slow rucks. If we want to attract the casual viewer then the early seasons offerings seem to be the way to go.
Dissapointed with the game and result but well done Wigan.
What do you think?
I’m in agreement regarding the ‘controlled’ rucks. If the tackle is deemed ‘held’ then all the players should just roll away, not slowly peeling off in a slow sequence.

Warrington too impatient and haphazard.
Wigan very confident and organised.

It also sounds like Hull have signed Judah Rimbu, who is a young PNG hooker playing for PNG Hunters. He's got one international cap.
This now appears to be a done deal. I wonder where this leaves some of the remaining imports, specifically Okunbor and Pele (and maybe Sao, who’s been more than good value) , as one will have to go to facilitate this.
In addition, Balmforth, who has been tagged by Grix as not being able to give his all for some of the games he’s played and is also on loan at Swinton. Both Okunbor and Pele on loans to championship clubs. Both have come through well organised and structured set ups in Australia. Sure, not all Aussies hit it off when they come here but both are shadows of what we expected.

If you remember we had him on loan from Hull at Leigh, we should have made an offer for him then, still raw but so much potential.
I think he went back to London, then to Batley and Doncaster before Leigh! I thought he also played for Newcastle??
This is where the loan scheme fails to deliver. A young 20 year old lad comes up north and ends up being pushed around all over the place. If your head is not in the right place you will never play well. -

A few others did.
Yep. I don’t think he was looked after as well as he should have been at Hull. Naturally big frame, decent hands and quick.

Quite.
It's naive to see this as "just asking for money". You need to put a plan together to justify the grant. There's a lot of work needed in grant applications. It's a specialist job.
We (RL clubs/RFL/Communities etc) should be actively doing this. It is not begging but being smart
I would think that many Community Clubs have parents or associates that are well aware of the processes and what ‘boxes’ need to be ticked before even applying. The initial application would be their ‘interview’, so it’s important to be right. Identifying these would help as would any pointers from the RFL or other awarding bodies.

Every single sport asks for money from the government, regardless of what they have done to raise funds themselves, the RL is no different here.
Sounds like a good initiative that is clearly timed with the election coming up, RL fans are supposedly a "key demographic" to all sides (Workington man etc last time) so a wise move to utilise this.
Most charities employ/contract people to find and engage with every possible grant opportunity. No reason why the RFL can’t do this.

Trinity announcing a four year deal for someone later today. Many Wakey fans would prefer it to be an extension rather than a signing
Ah, so youve got Wally then?

Yes, the political angle seems to have added more weight to the PNG angle and imo is the right way to go.

Perhaps he is just a natural Endomorph body shape, and no amount of training/diet will slim him right down, just the same with Ectomorphs those thin ones who could eat their own weight everyday and not put a pound on, it happens.
I think this is fair. The amount of measuring equipment clubs have on VO2, power, heart rate will identify whether his weight is holding him back. Sometimes loss of weight results negatively. Wally Lewis wasn’t the lightest of players either.
