I saw a mate yesterday who had been walking to the Morrison's on the LSV complex, he said he was sure that Mr Beaumont was with Zak Hardacre going into the stadium, my reaction was I thought Hardacre did not like travelling over here and wanted to be closer to home, and isn't he rumoured to be joining Hull FC, do I want it to be true and Leigh sign him, not to sure on that one.

Think you'd need viable rail access to temp Zak back over the pennines 😜 Commuting along the M62 from Ponte to Greater Manchester isn't conducive to a happy family life, as my wife would have screamed at you 20 years ago.

Well I know one old work colleague and Fev supporter who won’t watch them perform ….…

A few years ago he went to Elland Road to watch them on stage. The following day he was on Facebook incandescent with rage that during the show a lot of people attending kept chanting Leeds United songs.  With relish I responded to him saying did he not realise that the Kaiser Chiefs were massive Leeds Utd followers and the band took their from the South African football team that former Leeds captain Lucas ‘the Cheif’ Radebe played for, and therefore there would be thousands of Leeds supporters at the event.

He replied that he was aware of that fact but as he is a Sheffield Wednesday supporter he thought it was totally unacceptable for Leeds  supporters to chants such songs at an event held at the Leeds United ground.  He even wrote to the club asking why they didn’t ask people to stop such chants. 😄😄😄😄

I'm guessing I share a surname with him.  I can just imagine his rage 🤣

Have you ever done the Hoki  Koki if so you will understand the differences between in and out. You can’t buy a Sky package in Toulouse, you can’t see Sky advertisers products, you can’t walk into a FredDones and put a fiver on Satans Revenge in the 2.15 at Haydock, mushy peas are not on every grocers shelves.

France has had 25 years of failing to get a tv deal so has taken money out of the UK pot in the hope of expanding the sport and making France competitive at Intl level - which has failed.

Times are now hard, Wigan getting£75000 more by Leigh being in SL as opposed to TO becomes important x that by £10-50k for other clubs and it adds up

I have always advocated financially sound expansion and would love 2 x 10’s which contained 4 French clubs but they must bring money via a tv deal to be included

Now 4 FT clubs and 2 games a week on TV could really help the sport in France whilst doing so in the UK, don’t you agree

Don’t confuse the fantasists with common sense.

Does the ####### mean smelly David?

Seriously to all supporters of both teams and all viewers on Premier enjoy the game wherever you are, and although I do not expect Leigh to lose if they do I will be the first to congratulate and applaud Batley, it will take a super human effort from them to get the result.

Aye, good luck to both teams. Especially Batley 😜.

Ill be watching from the glamorous surroundings of a premier inn on the M42. Early start at a conference in Brum. Quite glad Fev didn’t make it. I’d be in a right state. Every cloud….

Better not get a taxi to the ground then............."Where do you say you want to go?"

The only folk I've ever found that had heard of TOXIII were the staff in Pub O'Clock and The Melting Pot, no taxi drivers, no bus drivers, no hotel staff - no one.

Not even a Wire fan I was chatting to in Pub O'Clock that was living there, working for Airbus.

From what I hear they will bounce you on the pitch. It's not in the details so far but I'm told that the pitches will also have a requirement to be level (within reason). No pun intended but the idea is to create a level playing field in which all clubs offer the same basic standards. So no not yet, but remember this is just the beginning.

I wouldn't bother with the terracing unless it's unsafe? Capacity is not an issue and I don't believe there is a minimum capacity or if there is you are easily within it. It's not my decision or my club so I can only suggest stuff, but forget about further capacity or spectator stuff, you're ok on that IMO. Get the infrastructure sorted, lights that are TV quality, a pitch that's flat like everyone else's and get the corporates in and fleece them so to speak. Don't give them any excuses to exclude you.

I'd argue that our terracing is fairly un-safe.  It's uneven, the steps are designed for children's feet and there are no crush barriers.  It also looks bloody awful on TV.

I take the point about the level pitch.  However, levelling the pitch would also mean the terracing needs replacing.  The bottom steps would be about 3 feet below pitch level.

By the skin of our teeth, had we not got that 8 million from Yorkcourt and decided to spend every spare penny we had on extra ground improvements we'd have been stiffed. Those being new floodlights, a permanent big screen and the hybrid pitch.

I reckon you could possibly squeeze the pitch and the floodlights out of the WMDC grant as they both add to community use.

From memory our floodlights were 175 k and they use energy efficient bulbs. The pitch was about 500k but BV was already level so it might be a bit more for you.

You could easily add some flats like we have, but they won't need to be as big or as ugly as they have improved a lot in recent years. A bar and restaurant on one level and say six nice boxes on the second level would cost about 500k but you'd easily cover the cost if you filled it.

With all that in place you are easily Cat B

Cas are in serious bother especially if the developer stalls - took us three years from the developer agreeing figure to us getting our money, and their developer hasn't agreed as yet.

Don't think we need the pitch as urgently as we need to replace the terracing at the POR end.  Apart from very early in the season, it's always immaculate.  There's no rule that says it need to be level and it's been full size for quite a while now.

The terracing is not in a good state and needs modern crush barriers really. Don't think we'll ever get away with a roof on that end, so it's just some digging up old concrete and pouring some new.

I'd have thought we could comfortably get that, the floodlights and the boxes you suggest for £2m

Might limit their matchday income however thats offset as they don't have maintenance costs etc..

Wigan must sell well more merchandise than say Leigh

True, but they also have to do what the football club tell them when arranging fixtures and have even had to re-arrange a fixture because of a wedding on-site.

That shouldn't happen in a top flight, professional sport.

Danny Orr might be an interesting contender. Assistant at Salford, who have been superb, and apparently left due to the commute. Think he'd be a good appointment.

Good bloke is Danny Orr, seems to have done well at Salford and Cas before that.  Be a good choice.

    I read this to be

Some clubs will be exempt from relegation if finish bottom

Lowest B grade will be relegated and swopped with highest B grade of championship 'upon review'  so if Catalan are bottom they survive, if wakey are second bottom they could swop with say Leigh.

This will go on until there are 12 grade A but maybe then expand to 14 with some grade Bs

Also in the detail France and London appear to be getting special protection as 'target expansions' so London and both French clubs could be shoe horned in.

Would explain why Toulouse are happy to go again in champ and why London are settling in Wimbledon.

    So looks like category A

    Saints

    Wigan

    Warrington

    Leeds

    Huddersfield

    Hull

    Hull KR

    Catalan

    Toulouse

    London

    Plus 2 grade B clubs

Hudds, Wigan, Hull, London and TOXIII aren't owners or primary tenants. That should preclude them from having an A in my opinion.  Can't have top flight clubs being subservient to another sport's fixture scheduling and not generating maximum matchday and non-rugby income.
