Confirmed by the club they have been unable to pay their players which they have stated was inevitable following the end of their season .

Not having the cash to  pay players is the start of a very slippery slope. Very worrying times down at PO Road

The irony of a Bradford fan bagging another club over finances.

Why?  If London avoid finishing bottom they will not be relegated,  there seems to be a misconception that the grading determines who will be in the top 12, it doesn't with the exception of A graded teams, clubs outside the top 12 with a B grade can only be promoted if they win the championship grand final doesn't matter if their score is higher or lower than the bottom team if they are both B.

That would be ideal, but I'm pretty sure that it's been said that this will not happen.

Apologies if it has been mentioned somewhere but one major problem I see with reserve teams being added into the league that I haven't seen brought up is the potentially huge variation in the quality of lineup they'll be able to name from week to week, and the effect this will have on the integrity of the competition.

For example a Wigan Warriors reserves at full strength, perhaps with a couple of first teamers playing to gain match fitness is a completely different entity to a Wigan reserves side at a point in time where the first team is having an injury crisis and have called up the better reserve players to the first team or prevented them from playing so as not to risk more injuries.

In short, I believe the gap in quality between how a SL reserve team could look at their best versus at their worst is just too great for them to be a part of a league where teams are competing for real rewards. Automatic promotion or the race for the last play off spot should not be decided by who got lucky with the reserve sides they played against.

Correct. The idea is a total non-starter.

I doubt a majority of champ cubs will go for it, but the only viable solution I can see is a merged division split into conferences. This season will just have to have the required number of cross-conference games to take account of the season tickets that champ clubs (being the far larger number) have sold. With a proper look at how it will work long term during the early part of this season.

You do know he’s not that rich? He owns a business on fev industrial estate not a chain of big businesses, he’s prob got less money than Campbell and clough at fev. He’s just taking over a club that is already at a good advantage. He will put money in this year but if they go up he won’t have too and probably won’t.

Also got two enormous sites in South Kirkby and another 10 across Yorkshire. His business is massive.  A quick look at companies house suggests he'll be worth more than MC, Clough and Degsy combined. Wakey will be well cashed up, I'm not expecting much joy from our two derbies this year.

  5. Yes OT is old and knackered. The seating is cramped and the in goals are less than ideal.

However, the atmosphere is brilliant and like others say, it's good to have a "permanent" home for the GF. Realistically, there isn't another stadium that can cope with the usual crowd size.

It's perfectly situated  for both public and private transport.  I parked in W2 car park, left on the hooter and was supping a bottle of Hazy Jane in Ponte's Wetherspoons 1hr 20 later.

So this is happening with games on Sunday 22 October  in St Helen's, Saturday 28 October in Huddersfield and Saturday 4 November in Leeds.

Who's going and how confident are England fans feeling?

I'm going to game 2 at Huddersfield. Looming at the stadium map last night, it looks like very few tickets have been sold so far. I have heard adverts for the series on Heart and seen electronic ads in Huddersfield Town centre and the centre of Leeds, so hopefully sales will pick up on the back of a decent opener.

Think my kids have bought me tickets, it coincides with a rather depressing milestone birthday. Bit of RL and a few beers in Headingley/Leeds will be just the ticket.

This is all well and good but you’re suggesting SL clubs take more cuts to accommodate 2 more clubs which won’t happen tbf.

Gets rid of loop fixtures though. The extra interest from not playing the same clubs 8 million times a season might even out the loss of tv money by putting more on the gate. Might also get us some better viewing numbers on tv. It all gets a bit samey towards the end of the season.

  8. I can't cope with another season of heartache. Might not be a bad thing that we're not trying explicitly to win promotion. Last couple of years has felt like everyone, especially the players were under massive pressure.  Part of the pleasure of watching rovers disappeared for me.

The recruitment did seem really odd from an outside perspective for 2023. Signing Aekins after he left us was a good signing in isolation, but considering until midseason you had Aekins, Kheirallah, Pickersgill and Hall on the books, it's just too many FB's and you end up trying square pegs in round holes. Aekins is not creative enough to be a halfback and it was a mistake to play him there against London.

Ever since Killer came back into the team it's been a case of finding somewhere for Aekins to play. Too good to leave out, but definitely not a halfback. We'd have been better playing him on the wing instead of Briscoe who has had a bit of a shocker defensively most games.

"We are very grateful for the efforts of our Head Coach James Ford in leading us through the last few months of the season, our only regret is we wish we would have made the change earlier"

Next sentence saying London had more desire and wanted it more. That must have been Sean long's fault as well.

Don't how true it is, but I've heard that more than half the squad were told they were no longer required on Thursday night. Which would explain our total lack of effort.

If true, who on earth thought it was a good idea to communicate that 72 hours before a massive game like that.

Very disillusioned right now. Regretting buying the early bird season ticket. I've no faith that there will be any improvement next year.
