Seems to be a fair number on social media:
He goes into a bit more detail on his last pod but I echo those sentiments myself.
Whilst some can be dismissed as shouty minorities etc, they very often can represent a more extreme version of increasingly mainstream views. There's a large and growing number of Rhinos fans expressing these sorts of views now.

Don't think there were enough there today to form a representative sample.
It was getting that way last week at home.

Fans don't sound too happy:
A coach has 3 elements to keep the confidence of: the squad, the management and the fans. He needs to have 2 of them at any one point to stay in place - and either the fans or the squad can push the management to make the call.
Rohan Smith has not got the fans right now.

Close to thinking that losing would have been better because at least it may have tipped Hetherington closer to sacking him...
A close victory was good just for the 2 points only...

What has happened to Cam Smith, as he has got older when you think the extra experience would have improved him, he has gone backwards in my opinion.
Never really rated him despite the hype tbh personally. A semi reliable plodder, which you need in a squad, but nothing special.

concerning attachment to the game-do kids even have a childhood "hero" anymore? by the time they have read a players fact file in the matchday programme they will have signed for another club anyway
Yeah, if anything the attachment to individuals is even greater than that to clubs amongst youngsters and beyond across all sports.

Of course fans are allowed to be unhappy, that’s anyone’s prerogative.
Although it seems all rather unpleasant this time around to be honest some of the vitriol I've heard from our fans is pretty excessive.
And i will leave it there now
I think its bound to get like that tbh. Smith has hardly endeared himself to fans, and frustration often gets pretty nasty when it is prolonged.
Sounds like some other posters with that ending mate!

Yeah there were but correct me if iam wrong ( usually are lol) but arnt Wakefield and cas using theirs on the ground ? Heard nothing about our £2 million.
Yeah but Wakefield had to do the main stand with community facilities etc included in that as part of the application for the funding. Cas a few years later I'm not so sure.
I can't remember anything being said about Fev.

And maybe he has better aspirations.
He’s got us to a grand final in the last two years. Theres only two other coaches currently in SL that has done that.
The whinging won’t stop until he’s gone, then the next coach will get the same as all Leeds coaches get.
Anyway ill leave it there.
And then it all went downhill...
He's had a season and a third now to prove any doubters wrong. Fans are allowed to be unhappy and express that. I was never McDermott out or anything like that and don't like the idea of sacking coaches (like Hull FC have for example), but I'm not blind to obvious deficiencies either.

Yes, I did, not Smith, so it’s pretty irrelevant what I think Smith would want to do isn’t it.
I get it, most Leeds fans don’t rate Smith, as Ive said I’m half hoping he gets sacked to stop the constant whinging.
I'd like to think a coach of a top side would have better aspirations than what you described.
The whinging stops if we start achieving. Smith doesn't seem able to do that...

I don't see why they can't? don't use some for safe standing on the PO end and the floodlights.
Originally there was supposed to be some "community benefit" attached to the funding being used. Not sure how liberally that is now being interpreted...

Who’s said it’s a consideration?
yes holbrook was a head coach but got the sack.
You!
And so?

I'd be interested to know what Fev have spent on.
I didn't think Fev had used it tbh? Perhaps on the conference suite area that is also used for other community functions?

You’re taking my opinion as if it’s actually what he thinks, I haven't got a clue what Smith wants to do, I was speculating.
Which successful coach of a SL club is currently a head coach in the NRL?
Both the last two coaches of Saints are assistants, the only current head coach in the NRL who has coached in SL is Trent Robinson.
The fact its even a consideration says enough.
Holbrook was head coach in the NRL on his departure, and Woolf will be head coach next year following the Dolphins bringing in both him and Wayne Bennett for their inaugural 2 seasons?

Say all what? Not many SL coaches go and be a head coach in the NRL
No the unsuccessful one's tend not to do they, the successful ones can though - especially Australians.
He's the head coach of one of the biggest Rugby clubs in the northern hemisphere. If he's happy to coach 2nd tier in an Australian State following that (having been unsuccessful), what does that say about him, the club and everything else involved?

He might be happy to go back and coach Queensland Cup, or get an assistants job, he's pretty well connected and has been part of coaching set ups in the NRL.
Does that say it all though?

I personally think we'll get a DOR in place for next season
I'd hope so, but then again I've been hoping that since Sinfield left in 2021... Again as well it is a question of "who"?

Pointless sacking someone with no plan on who to replace them
I agree with this. In the absence of a Director of Rugby however whose role is, in part, to keep tabs on available coaches and those that could best fit their team's style and players, I doubt we'd ever be at that stage...

Its certainly one solution, there are elements to like too.
I don't think anything changes the fact that one off knock out games (barring finals) don't sell as well with the RL audience as they used to. I also think Leeds or Wigan B team beating Workington or Hunslet in the opening rounds would get old pretty quickly.

This has been raised many times. AP finished Radford before he announced it on Sky.
Indeed, but he announced it publicly on Sky not in a formal press release. Telling the coach 2 minutes prior doesn't make it much better imo.
The fact FC fans are so quick to jump on to defend only highlights how obviously negative it came across...

How to restore the magic of the Challenge Cup

I think leaving Wembley could either be the making or doom of the Cup. Staying is a far safer option, as I simply do not have faith in the game to make a success of moving it around.
