Anyone doubting just how smoke & mirrors this all is, look no further than this thread: The owner of 4 twitter accounts, having a full on conversation with himself (1. Franchise RL 2. España RL 3. Valencia Huracanes 4. Bath RL)

I really hope they're not joining franchise rugby league
No legit (existing) entity will be a part of this. They will go with fictional stuff like last time: Chisinau Scorpions, Las Vegas Blackjacks etc...

If only twitter had a "laugh" button like facebook does!

This is why I believe having the NRL run the international game would be a bad idea for the northern hemisphere. IMO the NRL would run the international game in the best interests of the NRL. The game in Aus is already massive, and many seem to view the international game as an unwanted distraction. I think it's unlikely that the NRL would act in the best interests of the game in England, France etc, where we need the international game to help grow the sport.
No sane person is even considering that as an option. Only the K*nt and Phil Gould types ever suggest this nonsense. They live in a goldfish bowl and do not realise that there is a world beyond Sydney.

Tragic, even by Paul K*nt standards.

Are they the ones who withdrew from the RFL?
I am not sure if they withdrew or were expelled, or simply did not have the numbers anymore. Either way, they have not posted on their social media for 11 months. Pretty sure they are done.

Why are people mocking BSL? Sure it is an amateur grassroots competition, but at least they play real matches, with real teams, since 2017. Unlike this virtual nonsense.

Get ready for 6-12 months of tweeting about grand plans & promises, (some people on here getting ridiculously excited about it) only for it to all fizzle.
Spain have not played a local match in 4 years. How about starting with getting that back on track before attempting to 'conquer' Europe?
Also, didn't the guy behind this also take over Bath RL? How did that work out?

Glad to see the fixture went ahead as I had concerns about Cleveland's actual numbers. Close game too! I hope both teams can gain some momentum now and start playing some semi-regular games.

4 tries yesterday for Dom Young.

How does Kyle Amor feel about this. This means a reduced gate for him and therefore less cash made for him from his game.
Although I don't expect many people to travel to spain for a RL game TBHI am struggling to work out what one has to do with the other. Did he ever play for Spain or Wales during his career? Should the IRL have consulted Kyle Amor before arranging international matches?

Well said @iangidds - not sure if I can overlook the NSW jersey though!

It is not played in Latvia. Their last match was in May 2015 against Spain (earliest stages RLWC2017 qualifying) in Riga, which they lost.
Match report: https://europeanrugbyleague.com/fixtures/628/latvia-12-32-spain
Their was a fantastic live stream that day too (especially by 2015 standards and for a nation as RL minnow as Latvia):

Seems reasonable if there are age group comps underneath OA and these numbers include them. Are there? I don't know.
Really ? Do Scotland and Serbia have thriving (hidden underground) youth leagues that none of us know about?
Serbia.I believe has 6-7 men's teams, one women's team and a few U18 and U16 teams (who usually play 9 vs 9). Great effort and am not being "negative", but the number simply do not add up.
Greece, 190 across 8 mens and 3 womens teams, however, does seem to add up.

I take a bit of issue with this part:
Serbia boasted 703 registered participants, which is around double Scotland (369) and Ireland (420)
So if these figures are true, the that should mean: Serbia has 28-35 teams. Scotland has 15-18 teams, Ireland has 17-21 teams. Which clearly, none of them do.
Other than that, a great read!

Seriously, it's like no club has ever thought of issuing shares before.
"Great initiative" is what I said. Not that they invented the concept of shares.
Keep those positive vibes coming!

This is a great initiative, well done Whitehaven!
Some of you really need do need to get a grip/life. They are not claiming to be the next bitcoin, nor are they implying that with £100 you will become the club's majority shareholder. Obviously, this is aimed at Whitehaven fans, so of course it will not appeal to everyone.

This was the scene at full-time...
If you read the match report, you can maybe understand why. AEK's first grand final, losing 14-0 at half-time, making a big comeback and scoring in the last few minutes of the match.

No, not at all. I just genuinely think I have missed something here. Title states that Cleary is getting behind Ukraine's quest to reach the World Cup. Then when you read it, he says: "Yes I am eligible and proud of my Ukrainian heritage, I won't be playing for them, but I think others should." How exactly is he "getting behind" them?

But you invite applicants from all walks of life and business from around the world and it turns out that the best candidate worldwide for the role of innovative strategic thinker just happens to already work for you at a lower level as an accountant.
That is one way of putting it.
The reason I asked is because I am seeing a lot of blind pessimism here on the basis that he is "already involved in RL." It actually reminds me of the blind optimism we saw when David Collier was appointed as CEO of RLIF, simply because he has sports other than RL on his resumé. How did that work out for us?

Cleary sure ain't my favourite player, but credit to him for this initiative. Sounds like they'd have a decent first thirteen. With the conflict likely to stretch to at least 2025 the Ukrainians presence at our WC could be big news.
I don't understand why you are congratulating him. For what? Telling others to sign up for something he is not willing to do so himself?

I do not know the guy. Can anyone tell me why he is such a bad choice? And please cite some examples other than "because he is an in-house appointment"?

Either that, or he runs the twitter page too, therefore I short-changed him when I said it is 4 accounts and not 5.
You have to remember a lot of past cheerleaders will not be back this time if they got burnt last time.
