Really good read and comes over as a good guy, that combo at Salford with Rangi Chase in the halves should have been box office.
-
Salford are like the dying animal by the side of the road needing an act of mercy, it cannot carry on this way and something has to give, it's a tough watch.

Let's hope that the NRL get the keys to what is a very archaic Superleague in need of a reset, pretty sure they would take it to another level.
If I'm a Salford fan I'd welcome a rebrand, it's time to move on from something that despite the history is always flirting with instability and debt, a club should be about being sustainable and competing for trophies (last league title 1976) not merely surviving.

Strangely enough, quite a few Salford fans also support Manchester United or City as opposed to Salford City, yet they object to the rugby club potentially changing it's name to guess what? Manchester roosters, make it make sense...

Manchester Roosters or oblivion, any Salford fan with a modicum of sense would surely go with the former, not the latter.

Sad to see what was an excellent Salford side last season implode because of off field circumstances, their fans deserve better than this current fiasco even though they do remind me of the crowd that cheers for the kid who comes last in the egg and spoon race.
-
Looks like Salford are headed to the Championship at best or liquidation at the worst, barring a miracle they're pretty much done as a super league club.
-
Looks like the end of a once great club, sad day when it comes but the current situation for Salford is untenable.
-
Great player and coach, recall Widnes as the comeback kings in the 70s and Laughton was the loose forward, really top team with the likes of Bowden, Mills, Shaw.

Acquiring the land around the stadium makes business sense, acquiring the club doesn't, either way Salford cannot survive it would seem as a SL outfit, Sneyd gone, who's next? Its just unsustainable.
-
In hindsight I wonder if Rowley now regrets distancing himself from the Hull and Leeds coaching positions that were up for grabs last year, Salford must be a dreadful work environment.

It's an impressive squad that Salford have named albeit minus Lewis and Mellor, a legitimately strong squad, good news for Salford fans after all the turmoil, onwards and upwards.

If Salford would have won, does Mr Beaumont comment? unlikely.

The takeover went through a week ago, the RFL in the interests of the integrity of the game could and should have handled this better regardless of anything else, a postponement to a later date perhaps, it's not rocket science.

Can saints declare? beyond embarrassing this, any Salford fans who bought tickets for this should be reimbursed a refund.

Salford and the RFL are both culpable in this sorry mess and does more damage to an already ailing sport, not a good look at all.

Not sure why Salford can't name the same squad as last week if the same regulations apply this week, the circus continues.

All debts cleared, it's rags to riches for Salford and I think they're long suffering fans deserve it.

Hopefully this Salford side stays together, Marsters and Mcdonald together looks a fantastic pairing tbf.

Salford have been shuffling the furniture around on the titanic for too long, whole club needs a complete reset from top to bottom, probably in the championship, as a side note, will be interesting to see if Rowley sticks around, he's been possibly let down more than anyone connected with the club.
-
Real shame for the fans and "shareholders" who have been led on royally down the garden path, a magnificent example of how not to run either a SL club or a business.

Salford has a great heritage over the past century, the original red devils, for the sake of the club and putting personal enmity against Salford to one side, let's hope the club is put on a better financial footing in the next few months, a competitive Salford on and off the pitch, whats not to like.

Lindop, Thompson, Bentham.

Salford will be heading back to Pendleton church again at this rate, regardless of a stadium deal, the bigger picture in reality is that they need a wealthy benefactor.

Salford financial issues(again…)

There is speculation at the moment over investment into SL from the middle east and USA, if and it's a big if, then this is probably Salfords only hope if they are considered for any prospective investment, someone like Saudi who seem to be looking at enhancing their sport portfolio through football and boxing etc could pay off all the debts, buy the club and also the land, every Salford fans dream, interesting times ahead.
