Bit of a circus off the pitch at Salford, which is a shame as it just undermines everything that the coach is trying to build, something has to give.

He had a marvellous, disguised off-load which fooled most defences, and put the likes of Coulman, Dixon and Prescott steaming through. Unfortunately, the way he played left him open to late attacks to the head, which would be picked up these days. In those days, the culprits usually got away with it. The only player since who came close to him with his passes, I think, was Rangi Chase.
Nailed it there, the Rangi Chase of his era, Ken was a great player.

Sangare to Salford, clearly Rowley believes that there is a player in there, also the addition of Chris Hill should improve Sangare, I think Salford have made a couple of shrewd moves so far tbf, adding some depth also to the backs with Marsters.

I had no idea Joe Bullock was 31. Salford are going to have a big rebuild on their hands in the next 12-18 months as by my reckoning their starting 13 will have an average age over 31 by the end of next season. Squads like that have a habit of all breaking down at once if you don't get a lot of luck in terms of injuries.
Salford appear to be in very good hands off the pitch with the stadium deal and Rowley staying beyond next year, a rebuild should be quite a seamless one in 2 years time given the club's progress, off the pitch as well as on it.

Joe Bullock to Salford on a permanent deal along with Hill and Sangare according to reports, nothing as yet announced by the club though.

Rowley could have his pick of almost any coaching job in the SL so for him to be staying on at Salford in a different role suggests maybe the club is brewing something very interesting and attractive.

Any humble pie left...

If Leigh didn't have an owner who is something of a prat then I'd be rooting for the underdog.....Wigan by 16.

Chris Hill to Salford for 2025.

Fair to say best team won on the night, Lam outmanouvred Rowley tactically and Leigh deserve to be where they are, Salford are probably 2 quality forwards away from having a strong pack and suspect they also need a top winger, haven't really replaced Sio adequately enough.

Create an atmosphere to be proud of...
I think they will, for the first time it could be double figures in attendance at the stadium.

Well deserved for Wigan, the table doesn't lie they are the outstanding team in the SL, as for Salford they are a genuine top 4 side on merit and Rowley has earned the right to select his team for whatever reason the circumstances dictate, that is what a reserve team is actually for in the first place.

Short turnaround, small squad, Salford have earned the right to approach this to which benefits them, if they play Saints away they are very capable of winning there with a fully fit first choice 17, the bigger picture and all that

Sneyd, Watkins, Mellor, Lafai, Mcdonald, there's some real quality throughout this Salford side, definitely in with a chance of getting to the GF next month.

Hull are this year's whipping boys, whereas Salford who apparently in recent times have not got the minerals, the fans, or the resources, and who bring nothing to super league are actually in reality, a top 4 side on absolute merit.

Could go to golden point.

Can see Hill at a Leigh, but got a feeling he might end up at Salford.
-
Should never have come to this in the first place, may as well take away the trophy for whoever finishes top, scandalous.
-
KR are a top side but Saints have fallen off a cliff, and extending the contract of the coach is just baffling.
-
Hull KR, Wigan, Warrington, Saints, Catalans, and Leigh looking solid for the top 6, Salford seem to be losing their way.
-
-
3 things we learned from that: Salford should have won, Saints dug deep, Dudson is finished at SL level.
-
So easy on the eye Salford, hope they can actually go all the way to Old Trafford, the table doesn't lie, 4th on merit.

Salford financial issues(again…)

I think what Salford have requested will be rejected and understandably so, it's like applying for a pay day loan without any assurances.
