  1. Can anyone tell me if there has been any sort of recognition by York RL of the passing away of Phil Lowe, one of our finest coaches? Not to mention him being one of the greatest forwards this country has produced. Coached York for 3yrs I think, got us promoted and also coached us to the challenge cup semi. I apologise now if I am wrong but its a bit shabby if hes been forgotten.

  2. Just seen this. Very sad news. A great fella was Dave. Always optimistic always had a funny tale to tell. Been at many dinners where he was the compere and he was class. Always a gentleman. So sad. RIP Dave.

  3. Yes Pete the SAGA trip went well! 41 old gits, the eldest in his 80th year! Started in Hanging Heaton WMC for a few sherbets then on to the ground. Free entry much appreciated. Reasonable beer prices, plenty of outlets. Good selection of foodstalls. Plenty of clean toilet areas. Decent stewards. Good band. Wrong result but not a bad game. We all enjoyed ourselves and will be back. Well done Batley.

The Three Pigeons near The Shay only has normal tv. The best bet for watching Sky would be The Ring o Bells next to The Minster, turn right out of the railway station, or The Royal Oak which is straight up Horton Street out of the railway station and 5 minutes on your left. Both pubs have real ale. 🍺 🏉❗

    but...but....the pork pies!

  6. Got a feeling Sunday will see our biggest away support this season. A lot of lads going on the 1120 train. Punch Bowl old boys celebrating our mate Sids 60th. Hoping for a turnout like we had at Batley pre-covid.
