  1. Netherlands still have the Griffen cup against Germany to come and a further test match against Czech RL Plus their U19s touring the UK
  2. Let’s hope the Dutch don’t sell their souls and go down the heritage path but grow the game locally.
  3. Netherlands have just turned the Serbs over 40-10 Pretty big result in the lower ranks of International Rugby. Netherlands really ramping up the International matches, puts the home nations to shame
  4. U18s snatch a last gasp win 26-24 and the U16s get gupped 84-4
  5. This weekend sees our U18s take on Wales at Grangemouth Rugby Club Saturday 1pm KO U16s take on Wales at Barrow Island Rugby Club Sunday 1230pm KO
  6. In the current climate this ain’t happening, they have had great success in the NERL setup but I’m guessing cost is a factor here, hence playing in the Scottish setup. Best best and now Im really pushing the boat out, is a combined borders team could potentially, if the moon planet and stars line up and wind blows in the right direction, could give it a good shout. Firstly we need to our own league sorted first
  7. I kind of like the idea but only have 2 groups of 5, top 4 qualify for semis but top 3 in each group to automatically qualify for the next World Cup, so we have a proper qualifying stage
  8. Student 4 Nations now up and running with Scotland taking a 60-10 win against Wales England beating Ireland 46-0 Next up Scotland-England Wednesday 1530hrs
  9. Edinburgh taking the honours last night in a close and entertaining game 46 - 34 Edinburgh finding good form and avenging their loss to the Vikings at the beginning of the season, but it goes to show how far the Vikings have come over the past year
  10. I kind of agree, I’d love to see a Scottish Premiership Scotland team play the likes of the Irish and Welsh domestic international team, along with the Netherlands Germany etc it would give the local lads an extra incentive, though any news like this is always positive steps forward. What I would have loved to here was what steps are they going to make to cement the domestic scene and encourage the likes of past teams of Fife and Strathmore to rejoin and encourage other areas to develop a team, the Borders is an idea area for an RL team which has an Rl history The west coast (Ayrshire) also had a previous team which actually did really well, but hopefully time will tell
  11. Tonight see’s Rd 5 of the Scottish Premiership where Edinburgh take on Forth Valley at the Royal High School Edinburgh KO 1930hrs
  12. Rd3 of the Scottish Premiership between Glasgow and Edinburgh with a 64-4 victory to Edinburgh Scotland U16’s and 18’s were also in action today against the England lions RL U16’s losing 36-10 U18’s losing 34-4
  13. Yep 40-26 to the Vikings, great result for the Vikings and all involved with the team, years of hard work now paying off. I know they’ve been training a couple of times a week recently with some decent numbers turning up, Edinburgh I believe have been struggling to get players in numbers to train but I think it’s purely down to the ongoing union season. But let’s not take away from a great and well deserved win for the Vikings and the hard work Chris and his team have done
  14. Today see’s Rd 2 of the Scottish Premiership where Edinburgh visit Forth Valley, KO is 2pm at Hillfoots Rugby Club Also match highlights of Glasgow - Forth Valley available on the Scotland Rugby League YouTube channel
  15. Busy week in terms of Scotland RL apart from the premiership kicking off, Rd1 of the wheelchair championship started with Dundee taking the lead with 2 wins Edinburgh winning against Glasgow who have yet to win though ran Edinburgh close. June 24th see the 3 teams face off again in Rd 2 in Dundee Scotland students name their squad for the up and coming 4 nations in Wales in July and we have the Wheelchair Celtic cup 18th June in Edinburgh Rd 2 of the Scottish Championship returns 10th June where Forth visit Edinburgh

  19. I’m unsure on the politics but SRL have appointed a new club liaison officer meantime Glasgow take in Forth Valley this weekend 27th KO 2pm Cambuslang RU
  20. So it begins Aberdeen withdrawl from this year’s competition citing lack of finances to complete the season Also having concerns of the governance of the game in Scotland but are working with RL Scotland to address this They may enter a team in this years cup competition They are not going away but concerns are raised with SRL Not great new but read there FB page for a more in-depth report
  21. New RL ytube channel giving some insight to RL in Scotland and it’s clubs https://youtube.com/@RLinScotland
  22. A Scottish club with proper financial backing and time to build could be competitive in league 1 but we would be better investing in our 16-17-18 year olds bringing them on and trying to get partnerships/pathways with with Cumbrian clubs and Newcastle, placing them there for game time and building a future crop from there,
  23. Never heard of that one, might have been mentioned as a future possibility but no definitive plan currently.
  24. Glasgow RL have now teamed up with Cumbuslang RU which now offer a regular well maintained pitches plus all weather, club house with bar. Huge step forward for the Glasgow boys Also Scotland RL will be launching a wheelchair league this year, for once in a long time green shoots of progress up north
  25. New website from a fan blogging about RL in Scotland Hopefully it’ll develop into a great resource for promoting the game up here https://www.rlinscotland.co.uk/ instagram - rlinscotland twitter - RLinScotland
