Really need to get these games played on properly marked out pitches, doesn’t really help in promoting the game, but appears to be a good crowd
-
Sunday 27th sees Scotland play Ireland in Gateshead. Another welcome fixture for the domestic players of both nations
-
No idea to be honest but the links between Scotland and Newcastle are strong, Though good to see this fixture on the cards. Hopefully next year we can get Wales involved and some kind of Celtic cup. Could involve the French domestic side with The Netherlands. If Euro rugby get their act together the likes of Serbia, Czech Republic, Greece, Norway, Germany could playoff for a right to join the Celtic setup Winner playing off against the bottom club etc

14 of the 17 players were Scottish born and all play in the league, plus it was the oldest ever Scottish team by age to represent Scotland so brilliant effort all round Just need to increase the number of teams n players but the Scotland A pathway could really work if regular games are played yearly -

To be fair Scotland were made up of local lads from the league in Scotland which is an amazing move, no heritage players involved. Hopefully over time we can encourage disheartened RU players to cross codes which will only make the league stronger -
The Netherlands take the honour in Sassemheim 34-26 Here a link to the game albeit a poor one
-
The SRL name Newcastle assistant coach Adam Houston as head coach for this weekends Scotland A vs The Netherlands alongside Scotland Students team manager Andrew Lang as his assistant Kick off is 2pm Saturday at RC Bassets in Sassenheim Unsure if it’s being streamed but The Netherlands usually do some kind of broadcast

-
I understand this weekend prior to the Newcastle Rochdale match Scotland A will be playing in a warm up match for their match against the Netherlands on the 14th Sept Not sure who their playing and why in Newcastle but great to see the local lads getting a run out on the international scene https://www.facebook.com/share/p/rYfm8xDUpDVnMf4o/?mibextid=WC7FNe

After leadIng at halftime 12-4 Glasgow succumbed to Edinburgh 24-30 in a closely fought contest. The great thing is how Glasgow have improved over the past 12 months, even Forth Valley have impressed with closely fought games. Hopefully we can get at least 1 other team up n running next year

Glasgow defeated Forth to reach the grand final this coming Saturday at Cambuslang KO 3pm where they take on Edinburgh Prior to this Scotland U16’s take on Ireland over 2 games. Game 1 starts at 12pm Admission is £5
-
Well despite all the banter Scotland ran out winners over USA 32-10 so will go on to meet France
-
Busy week for the domestic game, last week saw Forth Valley defeat Edinburgh 38-14 in Edinburgh and tomorrow Forth take on Glasgow at Hillfoots 2pm KO whoever wins has a home tie in the semis Edinburgh have already qualified for the final Meanwhile our U19s are away playing in the Euros They meet USA on Sunday, USA making their debut here and if the Scots win then France awaits in the semis Lose then they will meet either Serbia or Ukraine in the 5th 6th playoff match
-
As far as I’m aware it’s Scotland A which was a plan to re introduce from the new management structure, giving local lads an opportunity to improve and represent Scotland,
-
Over the weekend we saw Glasgow taking on reigning champions Edinburgh in Glasgow with Edinburgh coming out on top in a close fought match 30-20 As seen above Scotland A team to meet The Netherlands is announced for the match 14th September in the Netherlands, let’s hope we see more of these in the coming year
-
Result from Hillfoots Forth Valley 20 - 24 Edinburgh really close game, despite the lack of teams , the 3 we have Glasgow and Forth have certainly closed the gap on Edinburgh

Great to hear and I’m assuming Scotland will utilise local players as was suggested last year by the new coaching staff
