Coming to Gilbert Brutus for the game two years since the Lord Derby Cup is a winner this Saturday. For a start having two former  Dragons players of note in Gigot and Esccare on opposite sides.

The entry is free for all 13 year olds and entries for all Dragons ticket holders. The restaurant too will be open from midday till 3pm. The first start with U15s Catalan-Salon at 11.30am, followed by U17s Albi-Baho (Perpignan) at 1pm and then U19s Carcassonne-Toulouse at 3pm before the Elite 1 Final at 5.15pm which will be 'streamed' by the Toulouse television station ViàOccitanie.

The Carcassonne coach Fred Camel saw his side have an easy run-out last last weekend at Villeneuve (0-42) while Albi took on Lezignan in a tough match (24-14). Camel is expecting a Cup Final after the home leagues games went even. He will expect a very hard game. He said the Tarn side have developed into a professional outfit,"very good for our game".

Toulouse are putting on special coaches for the day for supporters

Toulouse are not just bringing in a lot of young players from the Elite One team, they're bringing in players from their under 19 to play games at the top of the Championship.

Really like the look of several of the young players throughout all of their squads.

I was hoping Guillon would get a good run at hooker with Éloi going to be missing for a couple of months, but I've been reminded that Calum Gahan will be playing his first game for TO against Swinton

Is that indicative of a strong French youth who can hold their own, or a weak championship? Either way, it can only be good for the whole of the game, good French kids will travel e.g.Cozza at Fév

Toulouse are,in my humble opinion, the best side to have beaten Keighley Cougars this season.

Cougars lost at home to Featherstone Rovers,at home,on the opening night ,by a blowout score, and at Halifax, but Toulouse Olympique played better today than the other sides.

Well done.Pleased for your long-lasting head coach Sylvain Houles,in particular.

Been there 10 years, now,I have just confirmed.

I was concerned today...heavy pitch and Keighley doing very well, and losing Pélissier so early...didn't bode well. They are stretched with a small squad and having to have some youngsters step up. They will have to bring in Guillon to cover, but that's no bad thing, getting some new young French lads playing is a step in the right direction.

Sylvain is a great guy, I fear he won't be around too much longer. He has a farm to run and a great family so I think if they don't make SL again this year then TO will be looking for a new head coach.

And conveniently you ignore / delete the majority of my post which addresses your “concerns”.
The people who make the decision are fully independent and listen to and hear all the evidence from a number of sources but that doesn’t fit your agenda does it

I have no agenda, I only wanted to comment on one part of your post, I wasn't doing it out of disrespect.  I don't need to address everything on a point by point basis or do I.  Please confirm.

Oh, and to now address your point about the independent review, I understand that. In this case the decision was made on the evidence on one player

Interestingly your opening sentence implies that something happened so maybe not as “not guilty” as you try to make out.

There was contact, but there were 3 in the tackle. He doesn't deny the tackle, just the definition of "attacking the testicles" as that implies predetermined intent. You could argue that every tackle has the "intent" to cause serious harm and thus, after review, a long ban. If you allow the players to define the levels of intent then you are placing the reviewers and independent panels in a difficult position.

Toulouse and Laurent Belmas clearly not happy about his ban for an alleged attack to Tom Holmes' testicular area.

Toulouse have released a statement saying roughly (my translation) "In spite of a video which doesn't show any movement/gesture, the discplinary panel of the RFL has classed the alleged action as "Grade F" and the Operational tribunal has sentenced the Toulouse prop to a suspension of 7 matches."

The video's here. Probably inconclusive I'd say, you can see Holmes (number 1) move that part of his body sharply away but you can't see the alleged action from belmas (number 8). Whether the touch judge saw anything I don't know. Probably similar to the Flanagan case where they will have listened to the evidence from both parties and made their decision accordingly.

Belmas always said that there was no intent. Belmas maybe a tough mother on the pitch but he is absolutely convinced that there was nothing in this and was very shocked and upset by the result of the inquiry.

The match review panel reviewed the incident and saw no evidence.  Holmes demanded further action. An independent review committee also saw no evidence or intent. Both players were interviewed, and the review committee sided with Holmes that Belmas was guilty, hence the 7 match ban and this statement.

This sets a dangerous precedent if it's just a players word that can get someone banned for 7 matches.  I can guarantee that this won't be the last such incident like this.

Or London should arrange for their playing staff to have the appropriate visas?

Couple of the Elite lads for TO haven't got their passports sorted yet, so they can't travel to the UK to play. Idiots. They knew before the season started they may need to play in the UK.and were told to get it sorted. It's not as though they are expensive or the process is difficult.

French government just not allowing the Papuan and Fijians to enter the country is what I heard, but I don't know the full story - perhaps Covid regulations are a factor? Broncos have made some protest to the RFL about it, so it sounds like there was more to it than simply the club not applying for visas in time. Not sure what they expect the RFL to do about it though.

I'm not sure a UK working visa is good enough for Schengen anymore. I will do a bit of digging to see what the real reasons are. Maybe Macron is a secret TO supporter 😁

I watched the Bradford v Sheffield game, Sheffield gave themselves no chance with far too many errors and penalties in the first half, I didn't think it was down to feeble tackling.

Maybe Toulouse were just worn down by Sheffield as I haven't seen the full game, maybe playing 2 games in a row on an artificial pitch took its toll, but in isolation it looks like at least 4 or 5 of the 6 tries they conceded were from desperately weak defence, certainly I don't remember them defending that poorly during their previous stints in the Championship.

I noted that Anthony Guidez got his first game for the seniors. Another tick in the "playing the young kids" box, missing the 3 regularly wingers, Laguerre, Schaumkel and Armitage means they will have to rely on these youngsters stepping up.

Sheffield have put the tries up from their game against Toulouse. Obviously it's only those limited highlights but geez, Toulouse are going to have to improve their defending/tackling if they want to be serious contenders for promotion, on the evidence here they'll need to be better just to make the play-offs.

Yes, they just didn't want to get involved in any contact. 2nd half was better I believe, or Sheffield took their foot off the peddle. I did ask the question if it was something to do with OABs injury on the plastic pitch last week that rocked them, with such a small squad, any more injuries like that would have been on their mind. However, that really shouldn't have been an excuse and they will get told so. Broncos at home in two weeks will maybe restore some confidence, and then that is the last home game until June 3rd. I still see them in 2nd when they meet Fev in June, but as we've seen, it seems anyone can beat anyone on the day.
