I can't see that will be a problem, the way Toulouse are approaching this season on the playing roster side, I think that they have given up already on any chance that they will be promoted this year.

    They haven't at all.

They know it will be tougher this year with the money being spent on the English clubs, but they believe they have just as much a chance as any team. It just might be Featherstone's year, but isn't every year Featherstone's year?

Let's not forget that Toulouse were also severely restricted by Covid restrictions at the start of the season. This meant they had to cancel build up events with fans and sponsors, couldn't open bars and had to play the first few games with limited attendance. They had to operate on a week by week basis as restrictions changed and couldn't plan. All of that would have been very costly too with knock on effects for the rest of the season, even when restrictions relaxed.

Also paying the wages for Ford and Kheirallah when they weren't playing.. and legal fees trying to get Killer off contract.

Lots of costs, but that's all normal tbh when running a business. There are sponsors, but only really Bernard paying the Megabucks. I hope any new President(s) can bring new finance into the club. A TV deal would be the silver bullet in my opinion.

    Don't forget the ULEZ Charge - £100.

Toulouse have introduced something similar and the stade falls into the CritAir envelope. Less than 4€. But older cars are gradually being banned, one of ours can't go, the other loses the right the end of this year. New car or the nightmare of P&R from next season.

This year they upped their reserves -  two from Villeneuse who came back to TO in Marguerite and Masselot who have played for France in the past - the former here played for France 'A' against England Knights last year. Brochon came over from the Dragons and Pelligra from Carcassonne decent level half-backs. Just this weekend their U19s beat Dragons (24-16) unbroken record too.

On top of that just this week agreed with the Dragons to have players from their squad when needed.

Marguerite won't be available. I'm hoping Brochon and Lima can step up. The U19 do look good though, but I wouldn't read too much into the result the Catalan reserves is where the good players will end up

I hope not more than 2 then from a 19 man squad!

As it has been said previously, are T.O. hopeful of being fastracked into the top flight by IMG, it is a very dangerous attitude to take if so.

They don't have much choice presently. They are not doing this as an attitude.  A new owner would help, but it's difficult finding the talent to want to move to France at the moment and with the 300k or so lost to travelling clubs then they are at a bit of a disadvantage.

They've got a reserve team so I guess it's not really a 19-man squad. It is light in numbers in terms of proven Championship players though.

Only a couple in the elites will come when the elite season ends. They have hopes of a couple of SL players , depending on who is surplus to SL requirements....after all the pre-season faffing that is. There are a few injuries and guys who arrived not fully fit who will miss the first few games so they are very light for the start of the season

It's a bit sad too, though isn't it? Until a couple of years ago most big RL transfer news stories were broken in League Express. If you'd said then that they'd quickly become engaged in a race-to-the-bottom with SARL nobody would have believed it.

Seems to me that most transfers are pre-empted by the players' agents via social media

Toulouse have a lot of raw talent that just needs to be given a shot in the 1st team and not dropped and binned if they have a poor game or run of games.

Brochon got a mention in the team of the week. He might be needed if TO need a half come the middle of the season

WHAT ON EARTH goes through these peoples minds???? Are they just stupid or don't have a clue what's going on with the World ?

I've "met" people online like this, hating disabled people is just one aspect. I'm not going into the psychology of it all, although very interesting, would take up a lot of time. But there are a minority out there who blame society for caring about others whilst failing to care about themselves, basically others get the care and attention whilst society has sidelined them.

    Sounds like a good appointment.

I have never heard of a "forwards coach" in League though. Sounds like a really strange way to split things. What do the forwards do as a unit in League?

Every team I have ever been at splits it between attack and defence.

Your second rower is working much more with his half and his centre than he is with the Middles for example.

Do any other clubs have a "forwards coach"?

I apologise, I re read it and it does reference attaque rather than forwards, I paraphrase incorrectly. Christophe continues as défense coach

Wail skoundri(Toulouse) looks a decent player be good to see some of these lads get a run in the champ this year.

Yes, he should do. He is one of the lads that could step up to Championship after the Elite 1 season ends.

Wail, Lima, Biscarro, Marguerite (again). I believe Laguerre will be with the seniors from January

Back to transfer rumours...James Cunningham has said on SM that he has left TO due to family issues. Trying to work out if any top-end Championship clubs or low-end SL clubs need a hooker, but struggling to think of many.

Shame he decided to tell everyone via SM rather than let the club know first

A few have left because of family issues/reasons. Home sickness can play a big part when you have a young family.
