I was listening to the Full Eighty Minutes podcast on Tuesday, ive not a clue what their names are on the show but one of them said “he has heard rumours that if TO XIII go down they will rejoin the French league”. I hope that isn’t the case.
Yes, unfortunately I've been hearing those rumours for a few months now.
It's a big ask to sink another million into the club on the off chance they can make it back into SL next season, and now knowing what you need to stay there, another shed load on top of that. It would be nice if the away side paid their way next season, that would help.

No championship team was expected to travel to France due to Covid.
When it was safe my club Batley did for the semi final.
Only professional teams were expected to travel. London refused and were penalised appropriately

Toulouse just aren’t good enough to stay up simple as that. They've a handful of good players, mainly the bigger name Aussies Alvarro, Peats & Norman. Russell & Ashall-Bott are decent lower end standard but most the rest, including the French players (Sangarre apart who is ok) are championship standard. The coach isn’t up to much either. Their race is run.
The coach isn't up to much? He's been with them for 10 years is only 41 (yesterday) and taken them from nothing to the Super League. What a stupid comment

It does. 3 big weeks in which they have had winnable games and would have been hoping to see a couple of wins have seen 0 points.
This one was winnable with a video ref, unfortunately they came up short. The others...not a chance, no matter how well they played. A video ref should be mandatory for all SL games, some of the referring in France has been embarrassing.
They were hamstrung from the start of this season after all they have to pay for the travelling teams.
Still... how many games will Wakefield win from here on in? It might all boil down to TO v Catalans in a few weeks time.

This match is on Sky Sports Action, not the usual SS Arena. Are you sure you're accessing the correct dodgy stream?
I've never met you...but do you want my babies ?
Top tip - dodgy stream restored

17million BBC viewers last. They must be doing something right. I wonder if IMG are looking into this as part of their brief to enhance the image of the sport.
Nice to see Olly Ashall-Bott front and centre in the crowd after the game. I hope he asked Sylvain he wanted the morning off today!

I wonder if Ganson will apologise to Wakefield like he's just done to Wigan. I doubt it. That was a knock on everyday of the week.
Exactly, Hicks did the same during the TO v Salford match. Ball went backwards to the player behind but it was a knock on, Salford scored from the set off the scrum. Seems Saints got a bit lucky.

I think golden point is an awful way to decide the outcome. A drop goal before the 80 minutes are up is a different matter. When two teams have battled it out for the full 80 why should they have this lottery to decide a winner. A point each today and Wakey could have gone above TO.
But TO would have had 2 extra points if that was the case, having 2 draws rather than two losses

TBH I didn't see the incident you're referring to so can't comment on that. Personally I didn't think it was the best of games at all, pretty scrappy and a bit of a grind. OAB looked by far TO's most dangerous player and make a couple of cracking breaks which could've resulted in tries but Budgie made a great covering tackle on one of those.
The one really poor decision I did spot from Hicks (and in his defence I think it was the TJ that gave it) was the penalty for a late "hit" on Sneyd (which he definitely made a meal of). At that point I think we were only 3/5 points up and pretty sure we scored off the resulting set.
Actually I take it back, there was also (IMO) a sin-bin worthy professional foul from maybe Brierley/Croft just before HT after OAB had made a break. Very poor decision IMO but maybe my cider affected eyesight wasn't the best.
I hope Toulouse stay up I really do, I think they've got a lot to offer if they can get through a couple of seasons of SL and start to grow. Hopefully the crowds will pick up as well and for €15 it's a bargain. Slight gripe that there was no cider in the ground (choice of beer or champagne from what I could see) but a few more in town after the game made up for that!
The morning after feels very strange waking up having seen Salford win in France... the one hiding we gave Catalan a few years back was the trip I missed!
TO/Hull match next week is huge. My head says Hull might pull something out the bag but a TO win would really put the cat amongst the pigeons at the bottom and leave a few Wire fans twitching I reckon with their run-in.
I'm not sure Wakey have a couple of wins in them to claw back the 4 point gap to Wire but would love to be proved wrong!
Anyway, 5 hours to kill before my train back to Bordeaux so sports bar and England/SA beckons to avoid the 38° heat!
Au revoir mes amies!
PS. 2 more injuries picked up last night so can Saints please play their u14's next week!
Can't fault you on the Cider front... or lack of it...and they never turn the Guiness taps on for 13's rugby! Only the Irish bars seem to have Cider on tap it in Toulouse.
OAB does seem to offer an edge, not as effective as Kheiralla, but he's still learning. Although he was responsible for dropping the ball late on under a high kick. I think the professional foul you are thinking of was actually against Gigot, he got tap tackled 8mts out and when he tried to get up got a head shot and someone sat on him to kill the play. Fifita did something similar just before half time at the Magic Weekend and got binned, this time, just a penalty. As long as each referee is consistent, you would know what to expect. Not across refs mind you...that's too much to ask, each one has his own bug bears...or blind eyes. Hicks's blind eye seems to be hands on the ball...never gives it which is frustrating to a team that wants to play fast ball.
Glad you enjoyed Toulouse. We bumped into James Cunningham out for a stroll with his...very very small...new born, this morning whilst having a sneaky Sorbet and coffee. It's a nice city. Maybe you will get a chance to come back next season.

t'interweb mate. Most matches are OK through the BBC sports app and via local radio. Just one or two for TO or Catalans are not available.
Also, i've got a big f### off satellite dish bolted to the end of the grange, so I can get BBC 5 live etc over free-2-air...which would be great if they ever had a match live on the BBC sites
