  1. Looking at the Salfords, HKR , London's, Widnes, Cas wakeys and Bradford's I would fancy my chances with a FT squad with them in a mid eight Even more so with 4 of them in SL2! Do you think a promoted championship club in soccer benchmarks itself agains Manu man c or chelsea etc?? Some folk on here really worry me
  2. You lose 5 clubs plus cats source there own tv deal with Toulouse, that creates £7.8m, extra 200k to 8 uk SL1 clubs and 700k per club in sl2 - no extra funding required
  3. Two full time tens is how we should go, but if its not on the table we desperately need change so 12x2/8x3 it is Toulouse should be in SL1 in a 2x10 structure, on the proviso they bring a TV deal with Cats, the central funding is then removed from these enabling the finance for a second full time tier with P&R. Toulouse exempt for 3 years
  4. Is a club that goes belly up and walks away from its debts classed as stronger or weaker?
  5. That would be great, and it must be played under championship rules ie the SL club must only select a team whose combined salaries are within championship limits and only 1 import
  6. That's a good idea, they could play each other once with home advantage to the championship or SL2 clubs.
  7. What we have to remember is that the level of cash needed to be competitive and create the opportunity to move upwards is relatively low in comparison to other sports. 3/4 locals funding £600k pa for 2/3 years is peanuts compared to Soccer/RU, add that to a £600k central funding and they are on a par with the SL funding. Game on
  8. The top 4 of that mid 8 go into SL the following year, the way in is to come 1-4, in reality to be better than 1 of the 4 SL clubs making up the 8. FT v FT that could happen with a bit of luck and a few injuries
  9. The reality of 2x12/3x8 and indeed its success is that the 2014 championship grand finalists go full time and take with them a £1.2m player budget, which makes the mid 8 a very interesting comp that could go any way. It also allows a philanthropist to financially back a club knowing it could be in SL the following year
  10. Lobby as a fellow Leyther you don't half spout some sheeeite. The NRC is the only knock out comp for championship clubs and is integral to the season A number of factors hit this years gate: 1. It was not a family day out in Blackpool 2. It was played in what are now wakes weeks in a heat wave, it was normally a week earlier 3. Sheffield have no fans 4. Sheffield don't have a pull to make the effort due to no Craic unlike say Fax or Fev Playing at Blackpool with a 7000 gate would have lost money, money clubs like mine cannot afford to lose unless folk like you financially support it but you choose not to, yet use our locality in your username whilst pontificating the games ills and our future
  11. About 20 coaches filled and running from Leigh plus a few mini buses Welsh boys (full of Leythers) and Leyth of course, plus Maggies buying a pint for everybody who recognises her in the pigeons
  12. Crowd manipulation is easy, look at Man U as the classic example last year, its not turnstyle clicks but tickets sold. So lets say Featherstone provide 1000 free season tickets to schoolkids, that's 1000 tickets they cant sell for the game so they include the 1000 in every gate declared. Would they have done anything wrong - No. Would it look better having a 2600 average as opposed to 1600 - Yes.
  13. Leigh showed ambition by giving up income streams at HP and becoming tenants in a fantastic stadium that they cannot afford to be in whilst the current structures are in place It would be far better financially to be in an ageing sheetole like Cas wakey Bradford etc than LSV watching your fan base drop off
  14. Because it is and was the number one winter sport, commanding huge tv and sponsorship when sport was courted in the new media worldSoccer is that beneficiary here with other sports leaving us well down the food chain The dominant soccer clubs play in our major city's we have no real presence In London Manchester Birmingham Liverpool Newcastle or Glasgow I am having second thoughts on nominating you now
  15. We need you running our sport, all it takes is a A$1billion tv deal and £3.5m salary cap for 16 clubs- go get em superstar
  16. We can expand at last without the flatcappers exclusive strategies holding us back and killing the game, vive le revolution Bring Toulouse in SL1 with a self financed deal and 3 year protection 375k to the next level from the relegated three
  17. Lemmings over a cliff or Turkeys voting for Christmas, your choice. Banks also lend on PG's and assets if I am not mistaken. If we want to show some danglies we go to 8 clubs incl Toulouse, that provides a vibrant second tier of Widnes, Cas, Wakey, HKR, London, Bradford, Salford, Fax, Fev, Leigh, Batley and Sheffield or does that not suite Steve's plans or cut costs and increase hand outs?? Give the 6 £2m each and let the French source their own deal, leaving 600k to run a full time second tier
  18. The England win in Cardiff is vital to a ticket rush
  19. Over 10000 at Spotland and Derwent park will be some going so a big well done- assuming this isn't history repeating itself
