I have been known to visit Derwent park when I've been unable to attend away games to watch town I'll have you know, done the same at a few barrow games as well. It's a shame the RFL don't seem to look at the logistics of it as I'm sure alternative weeks at home for both town and haven would probably see an increase at home games for both

I think it’s insane to be given 5 out of your first 6 fixtures at home, winning the first 2 probably helped with the confidence and tempted a few more down for the next game. Town had the same scenario in the Championship but failed to pick up points. The problem is the lack of income with no home games for up to a couple of months. It crippled Town financially even though the crowds held up considering our results. I just don’t understand the RFLs thinking on this. 🤷‍♂️

Just noticed that haven are at home again this weekend like us , how many times has this happened recently ?  Well done RFL again killing the game in West Cumbria shame on you ☹️

Won’t make much difference to the attendance, only Neutral fan opting for the Wreck. 🤔🙄😄

  3. These are the games we need to win if we are looking to  be the best of the rest. If we play to our potential, we should be coming home with the points. It was great to have a few vital players back for the last game, any news on Ecclestone 🤔

Aye, and lets not forget that the corner flag was "in touch" back then - half the tries scored by wingers today would have been disallowed back then.

The Warrington corner flag try yesterday was insane, he was virtually sitting in the front row of the stand when he grounded it. 🤷‍♂️👏👏

No player in the long history of Oldham RLFC (1876 - ) has ever scored 10 tries in 2 games before. Cian beat Joe Ferguson's record of 9 set in 1922, over a century ago.

Great achievement, but let’s all remember the quality of the league we are playing in. Ike Southward would be scoring for fun. 👍

See jambos have sacked a player, quite hypocritical considering there handling of Dion Aiyre.

They would sign Fred West if he was still around. 🙄

As a 15  year old lad I attended Town's first game around 20 August 1945 against the once famous Broughton Rangers.  I don't have an original programme, but I do have a photo copy. I wonder if any of my supporter friends, for a bit of fun name the Town team and the score?

Amazing, where was the game played. Was it Lonsdale park 🤔

Jordan Weir and David Seeds, the guys who cover Haven for BBC Cumbria, are two of the best local commentators out there.

Call it as they see it, knowledgable and not afraid to give praise to the non-Cumbrian team.

It can’t be the same Jordan Weir I listen to, he’s worse than John Cox, the most biased commentator in RL history. 😱🙄

  9. I think this team is coming together with a mixture of youth and a few old heads, I was impressed on Sunday the way some of the young lads were taking the ball in. It was outstanding.  I would love to see Sammut take the line on more near the opposition line, he was unstoppable at times in his last spell for us. It’s a pity we have the 2 big spenders probably running away with this league, I think on our day we could be the next best after them. Hunslet away will be a big test for us, I think we need to win that one to tempt back some of the missing fans,. Hopefully there won’t be a massive Premier league game on for our next home game.

He's maybe an approachable guy, but that's about it. An approachable guy doesn't make a good businessman. Prove me wrong on the bits I've outlined and I'd like hard evidence please.

Blue knights keep the club propped up and they're the true bod. One of those guys should come forward and become chairman. To become a director there should be a criteria. I.e a certain amount should be invested into the club, evidence of running a business and having an interest in rugby league.

The Blue Knights contributions to the club are well known and appreciated by all Town fans.  If any of them wanted to be Chairman or on the BOD, I’m sure they would have put their best foot forward before now. There isn’t exactly a queue forming. 🤷‍♂️

Can you give his side of the story?

What Graeme said wasn’t far off the mark , he can be stubborn but certainly wouldnt speak to anyone in a confrontational or aggressive manner. Could they not have agreed to move both advertising boards across a foot or so to leave space for the flag 🤷‍♂️

Sad to hear a FAN has been told not to return to DP. It demonstrates the real state of the club and I'd place a bet with anyone, that it's just a matter of time before the club ends up in financial turmoil.

We have a non executive chairman who has a max of 10 shares in the club (£50) and contributes nothing else. I was part of the club when said chairman came along to help Barry. The now chairman confirmed he knew nothing about rugby league, had no interest and was at the club to help Barry (others will confirm this) he said in a recent article he played rugby league...... no he hasn't. He works at Sellafield and has NO business background. Can someone please explain why he's the chairman of a semi professional rugby league club, which is run as a business? This is a man that admits he knows nothing about rugby league, never played, has no business experience and has a max of 10 shares. Now he's banning people for flying a flag! A recent coach also confirmed that there was no one at the club that got along with him and as matter of fact he held the club back. I'm happy debate if people think I'm wrong.

I’m a good friend of the guy who has been banned, and I’m really disappointed it ended this way. Having said that, I find your post offensive to everyone associated with our club, fans included. You obviously aren’t a Town fan, why don’t you crawl back under your rock and let these admirable people on the BOD get on with running our great club. UTT (FREE THE DERWENT PARK ONE THOUGH😎🙏)

  14. Thought we put a good shift in today and would have won more comfortably in better conditions. The ref wasn’t t good but he was 10 times worse against Oldham. Great to have Jordan back, we are a different team when he plays.

  15. Have we honestly banned one of our life long supporters for the rest of the season for covering up a couple of letters on an advertising board with his flag 🤷‍♂️I know how important advertising sponsors are to the club, but this is just overkill in the extreme. 🙄

A former Haven director told me at the barrow game in the 1895 cup game a few weeks ago that Haven where chasing a Tongan prop but it was all about getting a visa and obviously the coin . Said he would be the best prop in the championship.  I wonder if it's the same one .

That would be great, just don’t want another Fafita. 😱

  17. I hoped for better yesterday but got what I probably expected. When the fixtures came out, not many of us thought we would get anything from the first 2 games, with the quality of players we have missing we never had a chance. Newcastle away and Rochdale at home are now must win games but will be tough. Let’s all keep getting behind our club to see them through this horrific injury crisis. UTT 💙
