You usually find it if there is anything advertised on facebook just click the link and up it pops, yes I know what you mean.
Hi Rog, thanks, yes I know it can be done by Facebook, I've bought tickets online myself but we're apparently now relying purely on Facebook? This is no way to attract Joe Public, new supporters, fans of the opposition. We look really AMATEUR . Clubs like Siddal and Hunslet ARLFC have better marketing and communications than we have. And it's not that there haven't been offers by others to help out- see the comment from Redditch Bulldog above.

The website to buy tickets is working, having overheard a number of York and wakey fans at both recently games paying on the gate or collecting tickets from their club has been cost cheaper
Well, if it's working- where are the links to find it? Or is it all secret society stuff?

People have stopped buying tickets online due to extra cost
People have stopped buying tickets online because the website hasn't been operational for a month now

See the comments in the Castleford cup game topic. We actually missed out on selling tickets to fans who tried to access the website to buy. It's all very well not having any marketing or commercial tools if you're happy to continue with our ageing and declining fan base but eventually we'll be down to the proverbial man and a dog watching the games. Worrying lack of interest by the club in promoting itself.

Still no website. Amateur hardly seems to be the word. Club just don't seem to care. Social media is one thing but there is still a huge market out there of people who would seek out a clubs website to get info on upcoming games, tickets, prices etc and we just totally ignore them

I'm sure I went to Wakefield and watched Batley lose 78 to 9.This would have been mid to late 60's in Trevor Oldroyd's days.
Yes, I was there too.Not one of greatest days!
No mention of the famous 0-0 draw at the Mount either

Just remember it’s supposed to be for the home team if anything if it was on radio Leeds they’d be all Batley
That's my point -they weren't biased at all. Very fair commentary and complimentary to Batley. A pleasure to listen to them

Radio Cumbria remarkably unbiased in their commentary today. Enjoyed listening to them.

Same for me, Rog. Still it is more informative than the genuine page.

For all the criticism of Abdull's weight/ fitness etc, he actually played the full 80, scored the last try in the 79th minute and was a worthy man of the match. Don't know what people want from a player if they can criticise that. I thought he was brilliant and would walk into any SL team in that form.

Really enjoyable game, lots of skill on show, and turned out to be a nailbiter at the end. Thought the Catalan defence won them the match with just a few minutes to go when they defended the four sets in a row.

Browny could be back no offence to kibula but I’d take vete or hind marsh from cas over sammy he’s not a prop
Hindmarsh, once he's fit, would be a good addition to the squad. Seen him down at Broncos in the past and he looks good.

A number of comments on the main forum, topic 6th round challenge cup, from fans of other clubs thinking they might come and watch Batley v Cas but have checked the Batley website and found that there is not even a mention of the game. 7400 views of this topic so far. And we wonder why the club can't attract larger gates! Some rather scathing comments about the club, lack of professionalism etc. Have to agree.

Yes it works out at £600 to the winner and £600 to the club so it's actually £1,200
Yes, Rog, but the plan had been to sell 1000 tickets at £2, so £1000 to the winner and £1000 to the club
-
Sorry, I didn't realise it wasn't actually £1000, thought we had sold the full amount, so was looking for a £1000 winner.
-
Is it a secret, or is someone going to announce the winner?

Perfect draw that. Home tie. Local rivals with the Linners connection. Not an impossible task to win given Cas current form. Bring it on!!

Lacklustre. The most worrying thing was lack of a plan on 6th tackle. The number of times we just gave it to a prop to drive it in was ridiculous. Did we make even one attacking kick on the 6th tackle (maybe for the Burton try if that was on the 6th). Still it was a win. Thought Rochdale played well and kept going well. We need to get our halfbacks fit, and we need to practice kicking to touch from penalties. Gained very few yards .Lots of effort though, can never criticise Batley for lack of effort.

That might be a tad unfair Bromley. If agents/players are looking for a SL get out clause in the deal then it may have been the only way for us to have competed for some players.
Don't disagree with the SL get out clause, but having signed the player, if he then signs for someone else we should have been due a transfer fee.

Kevin could have put out a statement like that , but is it true
If its a fee , why the secrecy
I think Kevin already answered, stating that our contracts didn't cover this. We just had a clause stating that if SL club came along, we would release him . Featherstone clearly much sharper and smarter than us.
-
Featherstone have just issued a club statement regarding the transfer of Ben Reynolds to HKR and have confirmed that a significant fee has been agreed. We really dropped the ball re Josh Rourke. We should also have received a 'significant transfer fee' . The two transfer scenarios are virtually identical but we clearly didn't have the right clauses in our contract.

That was an excellent game, really enjoyed watching it and very impressed with HKR. For all the comments over the past few weeks about Saints inability to score points, they did look dangerous and are still a team to reckon with. HKR look the real deal this season, if they can keep playing at that level of consistency they will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season - could even win some silverware
